Anyone with a decent understand of English knows better. Just because I may claim to be the reincarnation of Ben Franklin, that doesn't make it true. Just because they claim not to be an emulator, that doesn't that true either.
An emulator is something that duplicates the environment that an application runs in.
That's from the Wine FAQ. It goes on to say that Wine doesn't attempt to duplicate the environment.
However, the simple fact of the matter is that I have a shit load of wine libraries on my computer designed specifically to emulate their windows counterparts. As such, WINE most certainly is an emulator.
Actually, the US very rarely gives away money to foreign powers. Instead, the Federal Government will take the money and buy goods that the foreign country needs and then give those goods to the foreign country. In the end, it works out both for the US business that the government bought the goods from and the foreign country.
The real issue is that SouthWest offered special web rates for people who ordered on-line.
Now, if the guy had called, complained that he couldn't navigate the website because he's blind, asked for the reduced rate anyway, and been denied, then he might have a valid complaint.
Liv Tyler vs. Elijah Wood?!? What red blooded American male would want to see Liv Tyler naked instead of Elijah Wood naked? Oh that's right, all you strange heterosexuals.
Completely untrue... Taking the code and not adhering to the license is stealing. This is what happened when FreeBSD code made it into the linux ATA driver and the copyright was dropped from the source code.
Why would you want to see that comparison? nVidia's Linux drivers are hardware accelerated. Generic Mesa is not.

Hey asswipe, I know what the name means.
Dinivin
Do you, in fact, know better?

Maybe because it stars Steven Wright, one of the least funny comedians on the face of the planet.

Make sure you're running the latest version of XFree86 from the Ports tree.

ATI has released binary drivers for the Radeon 8500. Supposedly more developed drivers (with support for the newer cards), are also on their way.
Dinivin
A screen shot of the links.
Dinivin
Are you freakin' blind? Above the three steps, along the right hand side, are links to linux drivers, linux ia64 drivers, and freebsd drivers.
Dinivin
Rumor has it that it works with -CURRENT after you disable a check in nv-freebsd.h.
Dinivin
The kernel driver "source code" is simply a few lines of code wrapped around another binary module.
Dinivin
I don't mean to troll, but are there any _existing_ applications / games that would benefit from this?
Sure... Every 3D linux game: Rune, heretic2, q3a, ut, ut2003, descent, hg2, sof, terminus, parsec... Should I continue?
Dinivin
Ooops... Meant to point out the links along the side (just above Step 3), one of which says "FreeBSD Drivers"
You were saying?
Dinivin
The only thing that can stop them doing that is if the customers have an ethical objection, and as we've seen a large number don't.
And, as we've also seen, a large number do.

I'd be curious to know how you've managed to get a look at both their asses.

It did not detect or configure my network card. And it wasn't really clear how to do that. Linux installers do that, and have done it for years.
It wasn't really clear? Going to preferences from the Deskbar and selecting "Network" wasn't clear? Wow...

FreeBSD code cannot be "stolen"
Completely untrue... Taking the code and not adhering to the license is stealing. This is what happened when FreeBSD code made it into the linux ATA driver and the copyright was dropped from the source code.

There was a fairly long thread on the gcc devel mailing list about how gcc3.2 ICE's on a number of applications in the FreeBSD ports tree.
Frankly, FreeBSD doesn't want a "somewhat stable" compiler. They want one that actually functions like it's supposed to
Dinivin
Uh, yes there is... I built it from ports just the other day.
Dinivin
This looks familiar.
Slashdot: Fives years and going weak.
Dinivin
Too bad the nVidia's driver aren't stable under Linux on my machine.
