What's wrong with the job market? I see 'Help Wanted' ads in the newspaper every day.
Oh, you mean you want a GREAT Job? Well that's what you keep your eyes open for while you're working at Mediocre Job and cutting back on family expenditures until then.
You aren't going to change anything by continuing to work at the Shit Job.
Except that a lot of people argue that file-sharers aren't claiming that the music they are sharing is their own work, and therefore it is not copyright violation either.
While I agree that both sides slung excessive mud this election season, it would seem that Democrats did so as a substitute to outlining an agenda.
Say what you will about the Bush's agenda (I think it's misguided too), but at least his was clear. The only thing Kerry effectively communicated was how bad a job Bush did.
I think Kerry's wife epitomized a lot of Democrats by calling Bush supporters "scumbags". I may not be an expert in politics, but I'm pretty sure that's not a real good way to win those people over to your side.
If Democrats expect to win any national election in the future, they'd better drop the holier-than-thou elitism that has crept into their party.
What was stolen here!? Does Cisco no longer have this code anymore? What financial loss did Cisco suffer as a result of this copied code? What physical property do these people now have? Cisco could have avoided this altogether of they had just been good global citizens and GPL'd this code. Information wants to be FREE!!
Was it fair for Democrat congressmen to introduce draft legislation with the sole purpose to instill fear among young voters? (Rangel didn't even vote for his own bill.) Was it fair for Machael Moore to launch a political propaganda campaign that barely stuck to the truth to mislead voters?
Actually I didn't vote for Nader. Democrats have very strong ties to the film industry (ever hear of Fritz Hollings?), organized labor, and trial lawyers. But honestly, if you actually believe that the Democratic party works 100% towards the benefit of the people, with no influence from special interests, then nothing I say is going to pull the blinders off of your face.
It's people like you, the rabid vocal minority, that keep this country divided against itself. Here's a few points that might make you think like a civic-minded human being.
1. Kerry lost fair and square. Democrats aren't launching into lawsuits like in 2000 because they don't believe they won. You, on the other hand, still cling to an utterly unsubstantiated belief that the GOP somehow "stole" this election as well. Exactly what would it take to make you believe that Bush won fair and square? I suspect nothing would convince you of that.
2. We already have a 1-party system. Republicans and Democrats are securly united in their loyalty to corporations and special interests. Laws are in place, established by the 1-party system, to ensure that no other parties can challenge their power.
3. By the way, I didn't vote for Bush.
Bush won. Kerry lost. Most people have accepted that. People who insist on making false accusations against either side are doing nothing to unify this country.
This defies logic. We all know that closed-source, AKA "security through obscurity" software cannot possibly be more secure than open source software like Linux. Please stop tampering with the metaphysical laws of the universe.
So then you're saying that a formal declaration of war justifies imprisoning 100k+ American citizens for no reason other than their national origin and physical characteristics?
That's some logic, friend. And I always thought it worked like this:
A vote for Bush = A vote for Bush A vote for Kerry = A vote for Kerry A vote for Nader = A vote for Nader A vote for Badnarik = A vote for Badnarik A vote for Cobb = A vote for Cobb
In other words, Bush and Kerry aren't entitled to anyone's vote. I'm voting for Badnarik because neither candidate has earned my vote, and I think both of them would make lousy presidents.
I'm sorry, but to me that bit just reduced a potentially informative article to yet another trivial Slashvertisement.
Please no more goatse pumpkins...

My neighbor actually made one. Wasn't as good as the original, but there was no mistaking it. Definitely not what I wanted to think about after a long day of work, so please, stop making them, and stop linking pictures to them!
They did so because it's their right to release their software under whatever conditions they wish. Others choose to release their software under commercial lisences.
If you believe the GPL is a valid lisence, why should you not also respect the others?
Ya'll see that commercial with him pimping the iPod? He counts "Uno... Dos... Tres... Catorce" in Spanish. Now I may not be the most educated man on Earth, but I know sure as shit that fourteen does NOT come after three!!
"When I approach one or more people who provide me with software for no cost and ask for free help with it my expectations are lowered."
That doesn't make a very convincing argument, then, in favor of an OSS voting system that many Slashdotters advocate.
"You're trying to be clever by pointing out hypocrisy on Slashdot under the false assumption that Slashdot is some sort of gestalt."
Many Slashdotters tend to hold OSS to a much lower quality standard than commercial software (as you apparently do) while insisting that OSS is fundamentally superior. I'm simply taking yet another opportunity to point that little inconsistency out.
"I am sure they have some valid points to be made, however, the way they went about it was condescending and insulting..."
Sounds like your run-of-the-mill OSS tech support, if you ask me. Why is it OK to blame "idiot users" when they have problems with complicated OSS, but unacceptable to blame them for not knowing how to use a TOUCH SCREEN?

And you wonder why they resent you and everything you stand for?
Somehow, Liberals don't understand how destructive that kind of rhetoric is to their own cause. That's the true cause of the election results.
...nah, I can't bring myself to do it!

4. China's demand for oil has skyrocketed in the last decade.

His $1.5 TRILLION health care plan disagrees.
That's interesting, considering that there are only 529 electoral votes to be won.
Sure, laugh, but there really are people out there blaming this year's hurricane season on George W. Bush!

In a word: no.
Not at least until the private sector comes up with a vehicle that is capable of what the shuttle accomplished.
The X-Prize was a good start, but they are still a long way off.

Might I remind you we're talking about a silly video game here.
Then don't. I wouldn't pay $600 for the latest version of Adobe Photoshop either, but that does not give me the right to simply copy it from P2P.
You might want to wait till you can get a used copy of the games/DVDs you want. That's the honest way to get them if you don't want to pay full price.

After reading that, I think Ruby has a long way to go in terms of security.
