The music industry has not followed the example of the film industry. If you download a movie and find it a good film you are more likely to purchase the dvd for the better quality and the extra content. Download some music and they is no incentive for the getting the album. Maybe if another cd with a few extra's like making of the music video or interviews would persuade custoemrs to buy the album.
Its a different story for the movie industry. If I download a movie thats i find very good I have the incentive to purchase the dvd due to the extra's that you get with and...plus the quality. Downloading music on the otherhand once you have it they is not anything else to gain by purchasing the cd-rom. I will buy cd's from artists that do good music but if they were extra's or a making of the music video supplied as an extra cd in the pack i'm sure people would buy a lot more cd's.
I have been watching this site for a while and they seem to a good idea about defeating some parts of the rip act. The site is
href="http://www.m-o-o-t.org/">MOOT
If they put up a warning that you have copyrighted material on your drive, what can they do if you say ok but i also own the cd's. If they take you to court but you go out the day before and buy the music cd's than how can they prosecute?
In 20 years we will all be flying about using machines out based from href="http://www.americanantigravity.com/">ANTI GRAV and they seem to have come up with a decent clean power supply.
If this is true why not dump a load of microbes on mars.....If they come in contact with water with a little help they could start rain...causing atmosphere ect ect.
also probable killing anything that might exist though.;-)
Didn't a company try to try this a while ago and try to get the patent for hyperlinks or something? how is this patent on a few lines of java any different?.
block the p2p ports and when they start complaining ask what software they want and to put it in an email....then use the emails to talk with your boss and hey! no more p2p
I wonder if this technology can be used to perceive new colours then out normal rgb...saw an articly about people born with an extra colour then rgb but forget what it was.
I agree with what your saying to a certain extent, But from what i have seen so far, having a degree doesn't mean your better then someone without. Only from the basis that what you learn in college and university are very out dated by the time you break out into the real world.
My attitude before was to get along in life with the knowlege i picked up from hands on experiance......This appears to work as a lot of uni grads didn't appear to know the first thing about basics like dos and wouldn't touch Unix/linux with a barge pole. Now 3 years later I concluded that this piece of paper is still important no matter how tech savvy you were so am starting my BSc in computer science part time while i work...... Now i get the experiance from work and the degree i need...but miss out on the getting drunk every night at uni parties.
only thing now is what companies think about part time degree's verses normal ones.....

I had the same problem with my old job. I am currently 20 and left my other job a few months ago. Things went wrong from the start.....had a boss that made me sweep floor pack boxes and build racking when I applied for a laptop repair job..then moved to another department doing basic tech support to get told about the cost of living for my age and barly getting minimum wage...Then had a supervisor doing the same exams as me and because i passed them and he didn't became subject of victimisation (actually getting told to stop taking the exams). Then to top it off had a job building servers.....this was fun as no training was supplied even though i had to get 4-5 servers out the door a day.... I think they only thing keeping me going was my exams and looking for other jobs....
Early days yet I know i have a lot more work issues to get through in the future....but I will never have a company tell me what i can and can not learn again.
Running out of witty comments for these microsoft security flaws........will have one when the next security hole is descovered.......lets see thats about 2 hours from now?
How did he get a job in security even the basics of security in microsoft products are lacking......
so many users are creating accounts like administrator with out even a password and being allowed to leave it blank....Why not force a password?....this would also work better for microsoft, if the user forgets their password i am sure they wont mind charging for support.
I think its more down to the motivation of todays students. In the old days people were forced to use command lines and if you came across a problem you used any reference material you could find to get the problem solved. Now days most windows faults can be solved by just a few clicks of a mouse and if that doesn't work, in goes the remaster cd. If they can do the job without having to learn very much then why bother learning dos. Its not very suprising that most students don't use linux....they is indeed a GUI but to get it working perfectly you need to start tinkering under the bonet.
People should know IE will always be insecure....Thats why I went back to Nutscrape but i guess it only has a slightly smaller amount of security issues.
