While I don't imagine most govt's giving a thought to a red light or not, they are, typically, rather strict on following contracts. This is a normal and expected role of govt.
Ok, now you're trollin'. I'm sure it's just rhetoric, as even you know that no "space nutter" is going to claim that we'll create a gravity machine, that's just nonsense.
Everyone knows that we'll have to create an *anti*-gravity machine first.
Sure, that USA is gone, as is the USA from 50 years before that, and the USA 100 years before that, etc.
The only person I know of that had the same employer for life was my Uncle Billy, an Independently Owned and Operated Farmer. I understand that if you go back far enough, about 90% of the people had the same employer. That USA is gone too.
I do agree "show me your papers, please" is getting highly worrysome. The creation of the TSA, one of the largest make-work projects in our history, has created a huge bureaucracy, and bureaucracies know that they have to grow or die.
Works must demonstrate true worth and value to society prior to achieve copyright protection,
Then the question is who gets to define the value to society, and which value system should be used to asses such value. I heard the chanting of the thousands and the sky was illuminated by the fires from the souls of men, inscribed in paper.
I'll second that. Eventually, only the asses will be doing the assessing.
Yeah. I'd say that I've seen outages caused by backups perhaps every 2-4 years. From resource limitations to outright offline for the users.
But most software is not "critical". Only moderate efforts, if even that much, are made for redundancy, so the failures from the backups (as opposed to failures *of* the backups) tend to be taken in stride.
Anyways, I imagine it takes at least an order of magnitude greater effort for critical software.

Yeah. I noticed that too. A good laugh. 'Member when "made in China" only meant McMickey toys? I was thinking at the time that they'd follow the same arc as Japan.
lol
When he looks into his eyes, he sees somebody that he can work with.
Trump is completely context free.
but he speaks his mind
...Also, I heard he clubs baby seals and bludgeons kitty cats.
Nonsense. He goes clubbing with baby seals.
You need to look up the definition of "dictator". When people called Shrub a dictator, it was just as wrong then, and I disagreed with it.
Though I'll admit that a populist along the lines of a Trump type could certainly carry it out.
Hear hear!
Careful, think about it. This is just what the Aluminati want you to think!

Those seven issues sound good. That's should take care of the first day.
It's the other 10220 issues that he's going to deal with that gives me pause.
You say "dour" as if it is a bad thing.
I pictured this as voiced by "Droopy".
I read /. for the centerfold, you insensitive clod!
Haven't you heard? The centerfold is now filtered.
Our binary friend is having a lot of fun today, isn't he?

nicely put
Ok, let's try a little substitution and see it still rings true: ""We aren't ever going to live anywhere else but on land. We evolved on land."
...And I challenge you to drive from Atlanta to Honolulu.
Yet another failed promise from our leaders. Where's our flying cars, dammit!

Yeah, he seemed to miss the point that he was missing. About the mill part...did Odgen Nash get popular again?
"...come-hither loop."
nice
Eventually they will have a "scramble suit" (see "A Scanner Darkly", Philip K. Dick). Technology transfer from the military (i.e. bucks to be made).

Fuck it. Just kill off the entire human race and start over.
Tried that once. Didn't work.
