  1. A bit misleading on Banned Books published by Google · · Score: 5, Informative

Google has not made these books available to read online, it just gives you the ability to find a library that has the book.

Torpack wouldnt help, nor would using a different search engine (after all, that search engine could be compliling the same data about your searches), unless you want to use a different search engine everytime you make a query. And even then, there are only a limited number of decent search engines out there.

Just a quick FYI... local calls are not free in all parts of North America (or the USA for that matter). In VT, there are local per minute costs upto a cap of about $20. put this on top of the $30-40 normal phone bill (not including long distance) and you're talking $50-$60 + $20 for local internet access. It certainly isn't cheap.

Thankfully dialup access is a little cheaper now, but phone lines certainly arent. I'm sure this is certainly helping VOIP + Cable (though only maybe 20% of the state can get cable).

CCP has a Eve Online test server where they test all patches. There has been some word stating that the reason for the Chinese server is related to Chinese law. Some have stated that Chinese law requires MMO's to allow for sale of ingame items, but I don't know if that's true.. sounds kinda unlikely. It's more likely related to the curfew laws.

The software analogy is a bit off. You don't go buying copies of Windows 3.1 on cd (nor do you get free copies if you bought a floppy version).

Most people don't want old software in new distribution formats.

New software versions usually come with new features.

I don't really consider DTS to be a feature of a song, more a feature of the distribution method. The artist hasn't rerecorded it for the new format (and if they have, would you really want it? The original is what you are use to, any changes to that will probably ruin the song in your view).
