Ok, now what if you could save a 1000 lives without sacrificing ANY lives, just SOME of your free time and plasma?
Any reasons, other than you're not REQUIRED to, for NOT doing that little bit to help others?
I mean, this guy tested positive, so he knows firsthand how traumatic it can feel. I wonder what's going through his head where he will allow ANYone else to go through that.
But I do not, in any way, think he should be required.
Correct, you are. An example of this would be 'Magic' Johnson. He was confident enough about it to stop taking the ($10k per month) coctails, and after a time he was testing positive again.
I believe what he's trying to say is that an additional sheathing around the fiber itself, a secondary layer, could be a benefit in these types of threatening environments. In other words, if a secondary layer (picture something like a piece of protective opaque plastic surronding the fiber like a conduit) were being used, and the fiber itself broke...nothing bad would happen except the laser itself would not function as expected.
I've always shunned trading properties, even though the rules allow for it. Whenever we played strictly by the rules, where you auction off a previously unowned property if you land on it and don't want to purchase it, the game just seemed to drag on and on. We never did the whole 'tas money on free parking' thing though. With the whole point being to bankrupt someone, that really could drag it out, as you say.
Another way to have short games (never said I was particulary cultured or refined) is to have folks take a shot whenever they land on another person's property. Makes the game even shorter if the high dice-roller picks a property (based on the decision of the low dice-roller) of whoever goes to the restroom.:)
(Note to bank teller) "By reading this note, you agree to grant me all the money in your cash drawer, as well as all the money in the vault, by placing it in this very large suitcase immediately. By deviating from, or adding any steps to this process, you will be in violation of this agreement. All violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Had the same exact problem here, but once I met with their account rep we got a bit higher model as replacements. If you have a bunch of computers go bad, and you've paid for same-day service, they have to rectify your situation. If they don't, threaten to disolve the contract and they'll listen to your terms.
As a SWG beta-tester (yes, I'm sure there were hundreds, if not thousands) I can tell you that a lot of the suggestions that we made were not implemented during the beta cycle. For all I know they were implemented into the final game, but if so they were never tested.
I did not like the game during beta, even during the final weeks, and so never paid money to play it. The interface was too clunky (spoke up during beta) the missions were too long with too little reward (again, spoke up) and the combat itself was rather disjointed and cumbersome.
Anyways, I think that I'd be at least closer to giving it a shot when these changes are made.
I dunno about that. Slippery slope: It the whole "Let's ban anyone who has an opinion different from ours" type of thing. I mean, where do you draw the line?
I prefer to stack them, one on top of the other, near the edge of the board. Then, when I roll the dice I can knock them over, which means I have to stack them. Again.
Thief would be a good game for this technology, I think. Imagine if you could *smell* a guard from around a corner, or if you'd been running for a while, they could smell YOU.
Heat, specifically. If you have a heater running, due to movie or game content, that's gonna cost you in utility bills. Take Diablo II, for example, with pools of fire all around. How much heat is the device going to have to put out to match that?
"They are claiming it will be available to anybody interested."
I think I've located our disconnect. I disn't see that in the article. Please post your source.
If that were even remotely plausible or was actual lying, stores would NEVER run out of the popular toys, car dealerships would never run out of the good-cars-at-discount-prices, etc, etc, due to massive sue-age that we Americans are known for.
"If Microsoft says, "We are sold out of Xbox 360s" then they are stating that they do not have any more units to sell to customers."
Nice try, but Microsoft will not be saying that Toys R Us will, and it'll be accurate and honest. Unless you go directly to Microsoft to make your purchases. Let me kow how THAT works out for ya.
Right. Which is why the car dealerships have hundreds, nay THOUsands of cars delivered when the new model year comes out. Right?
Nope, they get a small amount now, a small amount later, etc, etc. Unless it's the new Viper, for example, and they get just one for the showroom. I would argue that this is also market manipulation, and is more common in other industries than you think.
Microsoft is not the only one doing this now, and will not be the only one doing it in the future.
So the product WILL be available in such-and-such a date. How are they lying?
Let's say that your local Ford dealership places an ad that says the 2006 F150 will be on their lot on December 1st. But they sell out before you can get there. Does that make what they did illegal? Why not? "They SAID it would be available to me on December 1st!" you cry. Yes, it was available, but they only got shipped three of them and you didn't line up early enough.

"Perhaps he believes doctors have psychic powers, but only reveal them at times of great need?"
That rocked. Hahaha!
Yeah, um, thanks for that visual.
I'm off to try to clear that out with some hetero-sexual examples now. LOTS of examples.
An excellent idea! Ya know, if more people thought like this, we'd be living in a much better place...

Bah. I'll bet he eats all his meals at the same time too. :)
Ah, the "Jack of all trades, Master of none" defence in the name of efficiency. Nice.
So you think this was a valuable use of time, watching six films at once? I'd love to see how you studied in high school and college.

Damn. As soon as Boobla Boobla send me the money he owes me from Nigera, I'll get right on that.
Ah, gotcha. I stand corrected (ok, so I sit corrected) and withdraw my correction.
a bad rubber.
Unless you call that a cap. In that case, more power to ya.
*sigh* If only I had the power to stop these jokes. At least keep them current.

I know that when I'm the bank, I often make special loans to myself.

So that kinda makes the rest of your point moot.
