    personally, if MS is going to "stay together and we lose innovation from other companies", i'd rather go with the odds that other companies will be able to develop for themselves better alternatives with no restrictions. as silly as it sounds, i have to get myself to see beyond the ms cloud, seeing what *could* be, rather than just a challenge to the existing Desktop OS Structure. i think it's worth the risk. bugger all the "Disasterous Consequences" that are claimed to come from MS' breakup.

    but geez... i have end-users calling up *all the time* with illegal operations, GPFs in sol. would you really want to play with that code?

    well, the best reason to reboot in 9x is the registry backups (which, of course, you can do manually...) because there's always the chance that adding that app, or changing that system setting will make the system wonky.

    i still need to alias "scanreg/restore" to something like "AAAAAACK!"

    i don't think that was what was being referred to... i was thinking more of the "virtual dj" schlock propagated as of late, with the rebirth, and mc303s growing popularity. granted, they sound really nice, but they can get really boring in the usual house/acid genre.

    i have an open mind. open enough to know that Anton LeVay is openly evil (although some would say laughably so ;P ), and had no false pretenses about doing good for anybody but himself.

    But what I really want to know is: the Scienos claim that Travolta is an OT Clear. (Operating Thetan Clear.) This means he is in touch with his Thetan nature (the spirits liberated when the evil being Xemu dropped a civiliation into volcanoes billions of years ago) and has powers of space and time, can heal with his touch, and fly through the air. So why doesn't he do his own stunts? And why is he so, well, chubby?

    same reason you sometimes have chubby doctors or especially dieticians/nutritionists ;)

    used computer shops like that are the reason i'd be interested in purchasing something *NEW* like this... they make a mint off of old tech, and the people who wouldn't know any better buying a 200 meg hdd for 100$! rather than purchasing some bulky overpriced used system from computer renaissance, i can get a perfect-sized lan party machine (starcraft sessions..... mmm.)

    i remember when a local arcade set up shop with a pay per play interface for pc games (doom!)

    those were the days :)

    of course, it's *still* nice to have a multiplayer starcraft/dungeon keeper session with eight or so others at a local gaming shop for 5 or so an hour, 20$ for the whole day.

    your laxity disturbs me. tolerance of spam will have you hitting the little "delete" button 10 times for every one piece of legit mail you get. have you ever seen what partial laziness like that will do to an aol mailbox? dear lord... the horror.
