this is a great example of a post from a passive-religious-java-coder, he says almost as fast in order to not attract too much attention, but yet still says it is not slow..meeting 50% of c++ speeds which is pretty sad, and he throws in irrelevant facts like the number of internal apps there are and how many cpu cycles exist that are occupied by system's code, these tactics try to throw people off, but basicly he says java is not slow even though it only meets 50% of c++'s speed, even though that is blatently false. the only field java is even majorly used in is server apps and that is because servers only really need to be good for accessing files and sending them to people, and in most cases speed is not an issue, on any computer you care about cpu cycles you would be a fool to use java.
who the hell actually checks those things, no need to make a copy of the hologram, hell stick a cd in an envolope, staple it to an instruction manual and if it works you have a happy customer:)
1) why do the tree-huggers have to swim naked w/ fish, does a fish seeing one of these guys shrunken testicles(or in the case of a female - sagging breasts) help them detect polutatnts?
2) why bother geneticlly engineering a fish to tell the tempature, can't you just get a thermometer?
3) why alter a whole fish rather than growing a few cells and tossing a glob of those cells into the water after they are perfected, no doubt much easier to engineer as well as to keep alive for long periods, plus less in the way of resources.

you disproved yourself with your third point, the reason people who use linus feel a sense of security and why people don't write viruses for it are simple, linux is not the os of most scriptkiddies, and linux is not open to such attacks.
i am 16 and i read most everything off the net, and watch a ton of movies, past that i hate reading out of books, growing up with html pages makes it hard to focus on something so incredably plain.
