We in the United States need not fear the collapse of our society; I have it on good authority that Congress will shortly pass a bill outlawing such a collapse.
Years of laboratory tests have confirmed that the most effective dust removal devices are computers, so just build a giant computer case with lots of fans, and watch the dust pile up inside.:)
The threat of cutting off funding, due to political views, is nearly as bad as having someone ship you off to camp X-Ray
Wow, why don't you tell someone in camp X-ray that. "Yeah, you think YOU suffered, my cushy government grant was cancelled, and *I* had to look for a JOB.
Apparently you have the Susan Sarandon / Tim Robbins concept of free speech, which is "I can say anything I want, and and NOBODY should be allowed to respond to it."
If by "respond", you mean nobody should be allowed to pull out a baseball bat and beat you to death, I agree. If by respond, you meant nobody should be allowed to block your income due to political views, I agree.
I don't even follow what you're attempting to say. Susan and Tim think they shouldn't be uninvited from things, or their first amendment rights are being violated. The first amendment doesn't require anyone else to provide you with an audience, it only prevents the government from not allowing you to speak.
Actually, it's perfectly legal to own fully automatic weapons in most states, and there is no permit.
You simply pay a $200 Transfer Tax as outlined in National Firearms Act of 1934 and send them some fingerprints for a background check after getting sign off from your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer.
About 3-6 months later, you get approved, and you can pick up your toy.
I'm in Arizona too, and we have lots of fun in the desert.:)
I suppose you think it's perfictly alright for a club keep out black people? or for a company not to hire mexicans?
Just because you own something dosn't mean you should be able to do whatever the hell you want on it. You want some freedom with those fries?
Apparently you don't want any freedom with those fries.
Forcing a company to abide by YOUR viewpoint isn't Freedom. Freedom requires allowing someone to hire who they want, for whatever reason, no matter how reprehensible.
If they won't hire blacks or Mexicans, it'll eventually hurt them a lot more than it will hurt blacks or Mexicans.
The time has come for the end of the RIAA. It has outlived it's usefulness (was there ever any?). The buggy whip corporation is now attempting to cling to it's profits by stripping us of our rights and privacy.
De Raadt was reasonably certain that his comments led to the funding cuts, and he was shocked by Smith's statements.
"A tenured professor was telling me not to exercise my freedom of speech," he told The Associated Press last week.
Ok, I previously had no opinion on this topic, but now I do. Theo, learn what free speech is.
Nobody passed a law to say you can't speak. No jack booted thugs broke into your house and dragged you out of bed at 3am...
Apparently you have the Susan Sarandon / Tim Robbins concept of free speech, which is "I can say anything I want, and and NOBODY should be allowed to respond to it."
I'm not for the war either, but I'm smart enough not to bite the hand that feeds me and think I'll still be fed.

It's a shame people hold their entertainment as such an important part of their life that there could never be a successful boycot of the MPAA or RIAA.
No way would most people skip out on Matrix 2! Can you imagine, not forking over $8 to the MPAA to see a movie?!
I check for dozens of users on my mail server, not me personally. In 5 years, I've never received a complaint related to blocking dial up user listings...
Ok, serioulsy now, how can intelligent person say, with a straight face, that there is no difference between Dems and the GOP? Not that there aren't a lot of reasons to currently dislike the Democratic party: their general spinelessness, blind support of feminists and their efforts to retroactively extend copyrights every 20 years.
I see you're one of those republicans "asleep at the wheel".
Democrats: Make government bigger, 7% a year. Republicans: Make government bigger, 6.5% a year. Libertarians: Make government smaller.
Democrats: Ban firearms. Republicans: Ban most firearms. Libertarians: Legalize firearms.
Democrats: Ban drugs. Republicans: Ban drugs. Libertarians: Legalize drugs.
Any random problem: Democrats: Throw money at it. Republicans: Throw money at it. Libertarians: Think.
Your only defense that there's a "huge difference" between democrats and republicans is by bringing up 3 vague non-democrat specific trivial examples and slinging a couple of insults.
If you can't see the big picture, you're hopeless.
One thing Libs don't seem to realize is that while it will certainally screw up, the primary job of government is to serve the people, while the primary job of business is to make money.
The country was founded on the same ideals libertarians support, so if there's a fundamental problem with freedom, I fail to see how our country became such an overwhelming success.
Or do you propose that we're a success because of reduced freedoms and government control of a larger and larger part of our personal finances?
Also, I don't run into many instances that private corporations end up costing more than the government to perform a particular function. Sure, there are examples, but they're red herrings.
If you're hinting at corporate welfare or corporate legal protections, I agree, those are complete horseshit and need to be thrown out as quickly, if not quicker, than personal entitlements!
My response to that is that if you never vote for what you want, you'll certainly never get it.
The Libertarians have cost the republicans seats in the last several elections. This at least opens the eyes of the republicans so that they realize there's a demographic out there they don't appeal to. This isn't as nice as getting a Libertarian in, but it's better than simply doing nothing.
If I just voted republican, nothing would ever be gained.
Unfortunately, that's just not true. Democrats initially got us involved in Vietnam and refused to get out. Korea - democrats. Clinton got us into Somolia, Bosnia, etc...
You're thinking too near term and not looking back.:)
Both parties are about monopolizing power. That's why they won't support things like a national sales tax to eliminate witholding - too much power to the people.
They also set up all sorts of nice laws to keep third parties off the ballots.
Things like welfare end up being nothing more than the vehicle for creating a perpetual underclass that maintains their voter power base.
The problem is everyone votes for democrats and republicans.
There is no significant difference between the two. Neither one has any intention of doing anything other than enlarging government and reducing freedoms.
Anyone who doesn't yet realize this has a screw lose, or their head buried in the sand.
Most will grab a single issue and say "I can't vote Libertarian because they like pot!" So they'll agree on 98% of the issues, but instead, vote for a republican that they disagree with on 7 5% of the issues because of pot, or abortion, or one other authoritarian leaning in them.
RBLs have had dialup lists for blocking for YEARS. I've used them for years. I don't really miss a whole lot of legitimate mail (I check).
Yes, it'd be nice if this was a perfect world, and we could all run sendmail at home... but since have these spamming hosebags that spew billions of spams from dialup, isdn, dsl, cable, carrier pidgeon, etc...
I block dial up SMTP, so do a lot of other people, and now AOL does.
It must really suck having parents that give enough of a shit about you to check up on your schoolwork.
Don't you wish your parents didn't give a damn, so you could goof off, never complete your homework, fail tests, fail classes, and end up being a worthless leech on society?
What do they know, anyway? It's not like they've been through all this.
No, because I think everybody else understands that there's really no such thing as a 'generic implementation'. :)
He's talking about Perl. The fact that it's only 5 lines of code certainly does not mean it's not insanely complicated. :)
As long as we're all clear that "legal" is very different than Constitutional, my jack booted friend.

Your right to swing your fist ends at my nose; other than that, swing away.
Likewise, you have the right to do whatever you want with a gun, provided you don't infringe on anyone else's right to life, liberty, or property.

I hereby accuse you of an illegal act. Please send me your real name, address, blood type, SSN, and credit card numbers immediately.
Hey, the verizon subscribers weren't convicted of anything either, just accused, so, pony up now, hypocrite.

Forget freedom, what's on TV?
Things like this get me thinking more and more about the Free State Project
It's the thought that counts. :)

Why on earth would you drop $5k on an engagement ring?
:)
Ever read statistics on divorce? Most couples cite financial problems as the beginning of the end.
Besides, who needs someone that vain to deal with for a lifetime?
