    I can cover 1 km pretty quickly, but then I'm far from being one of the 30%+ of obese Americans ...

    This sounds like a perfect government project - make people unhealthy, solve a problem that doesn't need a solution, and do it all by milking the tax payers for billions of dollars to funnel to unions and cronies.

    This is clearly sexual discrimination with no need to probe into why there are differences. We must immediately pass a low mandating a $10k raise for all females in IT, spend $500M overhauling universities to make computer science more appealing, and change entrance standards to require 70% of all students to be female.

    Then, at last, we'll have eliminated sexism!

    If you actually care about how ignorant you are on the topic, I'd recommend This is Not An Assault by David Hardy. He goes into plenty of detail on how "dangerous" Koresh's group was as well as how they were systematically murdered - and provides plenty of evidence.

    However, I suspect you don't really care - as long as the government kills Americans you don't like, you don't really mind. If they kill Arabs in foreign countries, though, I bet you get seriously pissed.

    We libertarians don't approve of either.

    A civil war is a war between two groups in the same country for control of said country.

    The South never desired control over the North, they just left - peacefully, too.

    It's only a civil war if you somehow believe the revisionist history that states are not and were never allowed to leave a voluntary Union.

    You're obviously the victim of the leftist propaganda that already exists in our textbooks. It's hard to get too upset about Texas just doing the same thing in the other direction, when we've had several generations of misguided people raised believing there's a free market, that the free market causes all these problems, and that somehow more valiant government bureaucrats, even more oppressive taxation, and hundreds of thousands of more pages of regulations are the answer.

    Why is the answer to every miserable government failure always "more government"?

    It's unfortunate we're going to have to have a total collapse to fix this mess, because far too many people have fallen into state-worship, and the state is nothing more than a corporatist's / fascist's dream these days.

    Also, I'd think this number would be dropping rapidly as fast as the Fed is inflating the money supply. :)
