Charge a $500 deposit for those who wish to sign up for this "new-and-cool" delivery service. Financial protection models like this have existed for years to secure semi-valuable objects.
I've never hear of anyone signing away a $500 bond to maybe get a burrito delivered. It would also just make them more of a target since instead of just taking one out for kicks, you now also know you're going to make some nerd $500 poorer too.
I know we're nerds and drones are supposed to the coolest thing to nerds, but does anyone really think drones buzzing overhead is a good thing?
If I see one of these annoying things polluting my neighbourhood I will do my best to destroy it. Good luck getting your Burrito.
The same thing Domino's does when their pizza deliverymen are destroyed or stolen
I'm pretty sure the murder rate for pizza delivery people will be much lower than for drone vandalism. I'm also sure the cop care factor for theft of a $5 item of food is going to be zero.
This has fail written all over it and you know it.
16% are racist is another way of saying 84% aren't. Compare to attitudes 50 years I'd take that as a win.
To compare, 22% would've still voted for Bush even after starting 2 unwinnable wars that cost over a Trillion dollars and will take decades to resolve, and plunging most of the western world into economic meltdown. If even the most useless leader in history still has 22% support, then 16% is nothing.
I'm referring to the highly user-identifying nature of SMS.
So am I. If you intercept my SMS: "XCVGP MTHYU FPOLW TUSHA", what does that mean to you? Without a OTP it is meaningless
If I put in more than 5 minutes effort I would create a OTP that has built-in plausible deniability (eg using real phrase instead of random characters such as "pick up milk from the corner store after work please").
My point is that screening for known dictionary words is amateur-hour security measures. It doesn't really stop anything other than the casual bystander (who is unlikely to be the mastermind behind any potential revolution)
Was going to post the same. I have the square card reader which uses the audio port to transmit data. I guess Apple are content to let Android have these markets all to themselves
So you'd really play change-the-spelling games with SMS when the local government has a habit of locking up people for saying the word out loud, and killing people who say it several times?
No revolution ever started through compliance. If it were me I'd be looking for something a little more sophisticated than simple letter shifting eg OTP is low tech but very robust.
Here's hoping the rest of the market doesn't make like apple-obsessed sheep for once
It's not 2007 anymore. Apple had some lead in innovation back then. For the last few year everything Apple have been doing is "me too" (ipad mini, phablet iphone, watch, pen, maps, music etc etc)
We all know these things are trivial to bypass. Dem0cracy, Hemocracy, Lemocracy, Democray-cray, that's the beauty of language. Youse carn mekitup azz yo gogo un thur missage stil gitz throo. If all else fails send an MMS of the txt.
If I were a large multi-national looking to deploy capital, the uncertainty about the Brexit would lead me to steer far away and invest elsewhere.
Who cares, those fuckers don't pay tax anyway. I prefer a government to rule for the people not the corporations, and that appears to be what Brexit is doing.
Again I'm no expert, but I see a lot of upsides to being independent, and in control of your own destiny. My country is not part of any open border union and we seem to be doing alright.
Lets see.. Wikipedia: "Many social scientists including economist Michael Zweig and sociologist Dennis Gilbert contend that middle class persons usually have above median incomes."
Right now we're getting somewhere. See how it works now?
Or a study that shows middle class incomes average ã47k : http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/u...
Median income in the UK? ã22k
No fucking relationship at all.
Except what you have cited is just opinions. Because the point I was going to make, until you went full retard, is that "middle class" has no scientific definition (The Daily Mirror is not a scientific journal last time I checked). It can mean what ever you like. You must know this because it says so on the Wikipedia page you referenced. Yet you still went there. Awesome stuff. Thanks for playing.
I was just watching a show last night about exactly this. You can train most dogs to find you keys or phone with about 2 weeks of training.

Most things said and written about sports are vapid by Sturgeon's Law.
I think it depends on the context. A lot of sports reporting is high level fluff that can probably be automated. But my chosen code, I follow ex-players and coaches who get semi-privileged information directly from their peers they used to share the locker room with. They also have insight into the nuances a desk journalist or robot just can't cover.
So there is an evolution there. General results will be covered by robots, but if you want the gritty emotional details you'll still need a human.
You could've used this time and space to demonstrate your point with reason yet continue with more childish insults.
Are you finding that difficult to defend your position?
Tell us all what you think the term "middle class" represents? What socio-economic group do you think this covers? Is it the top? the bottom? Or the middle perhaps? And how do you think that relates to the median group of income earners? You think there might be a connection there? No? Too much of a stretch for you?
Go back to Reddit lightweight. This is a discussion forum, not a place to insult anyone who has a different opinion to your own.
I think the cultural impacts have been far underestimated compared to the economic impacts. All animals need to feel like we belong to a tribe. And it's a real issue to have foreigners who look, act and speak differently take over your neighbourhood. As much as multiculturalism should be peace love and mung beans it isn't always, and it's a real balancing act to get it right.
People try to brush off any concerns of uncontrolled immigration as racism, but there are very real issues at stake that aren't being addressed, hence this result. This is failure of the architects of EUv1. I suspect this will be addressed with an EUv2 that may now get some traction. So Brexit is a win IMO.
You don't know how many of these non-white people were British.
Makes no difference. As I said in the analogy, if you went to Somalia and it was entirely Scandinavians with Somalian passports, you would be shocked too.
Multiculturalism is what made London great, what saved it after WWII, and what's driven it forward since then. Britain without multiculturalism is boring as fuck.
Yes, yes, because from post war to the start of the EU immigration was controlled to some level. Don't try and make this a black and white issue, some immigration is good, there are many levels of grey between total open borders and zero immigration.
Open borders are not a disaster, except in the media. All statistics show they have a massive net benefit to all countries involved.
Except the only one that counts in a democracy, popular opinion.
I say this as someone who's dead set against this idiotic idea of a Brexit.
Can I ask why? I don't know either way, but on the surface independent governance sounds a better option to me. A lot of English people I know are against the Brexit, but still not sure why. Self governance and controlled borders are big wins IMO. Trade implications shouldn't be too big a deal since in theory you can negotiate better terms, and pick and choose which parts you like and which you don't.
The UK left because of diffuse and non-concrete fears that large waves of refugees might enter the country,
Not might, did.
I was in London last year, I was shocked at how many white people I didn't see. That's not racist, because if you went to Somalia and only saw Swedish people you'd have the same reaction.
Culture is important, we must respect that there is a balancing act required to maintain existing cultures while co-existing with others. We're learning from plenty of examples everywhere that some level of immigration is good, but too much or too little is detrimental. the Brexit vote is merely an expression that the majority think it has gone too far. Why can't we accept that without playing the racism card?
I don't think there is anything in wanting this, however to think that it can be achieved without consequence is foolish. The UK in its current form is tightly integrated into the EU and the health of its economy is dependent on trade. The pro-Brexit champions were just as aware of this as anyone.
You can still trade with the EU without being a part of it ie USA, Japan, China etc.
I haven't followed the details too closely, but I'm struggling to see what's bad about being in charge of your own borders. Multiculturalism sounds nice in hippie universe, and it can work under certain conditions, and can work well when done properly. But open borders is a recipe for disaster as the EU is discovering now.

Because after Google perfects this system...
This is a lot easier to say than do. Just like time travel...

Square's mag-stripe card reader is obsolete - it can't read chip & PIN cards, or contactless.
I have a Square card reader that does chip & PIN using the headphone jack: https://squareup.com/au/reader
Was going to post the same. I have the square card reader which uses the audio port to transmit data. I guess Apple are content to let Android have these markets all to themselves

Oh look. Bitching, whining, evasion. I show you some evidence; you deny it.
The Daily Mail? This is considered "evidence" where you're from?
Keep going this is getting better....

Brexit is going to completely fuck up the UK economy along with many other major world economies.
The EU has only been in existence for 15 years, surely it won't be worse than pre-EU?
I say this as someone who's dead set against this idiotic idea of a Brexit.

You know, the EU can't actually make UK laws, right? That's not how it works.
I'm no expert on the subject, but why is the Ireland/EU/Apple thing such a big deal then?
I don't think there is anything in wanting this, however to think that it can be achieved without consequence is foolish. The UK in its current form is tightly integrated into the EU and the health of its economy is dependent on trade. The pro-Brexit champions were just as aware of this as anyone.
