Count me in, as long as it is about first contact with the Kzinti. (For those of you who do not know what they are, just read it and do not say it. They are NOT Xindi!)
They've already gone way far back in history to do "Enterprise". A prequel before that? I know. They can do a movie about the world before the first starships were launched. About modern-day people who dream of the day when dilithium crystals will be real real, you could make love to real Romulans instead of inflated ones, and tribbles were not made of cloth.
Thanks!!!
First web site I found had them for about a buck a disk. Is this typical? Not complaining (since you pay for quality), but if it is easy to get them for 33 cents instead or something like that, I'd like to know.
That does it. I'm converting all my mp3 collection to 8-track tapes. Does anyone know of a good 8-track tape recorder that mounts in a typical tower 5.25" drive bay to make this easy?
...an American acting totally insane won't get noticed, since we all act that way anyway. (I kid, of course. There are some pretty weird Brits out there, too.)
How long before Richard Branson gets the idea to try and try again to go 'round the world in a rocket belt?
Let's snicker at the image of non-tech-savvy FBI agents busting open lockers: "Lars, do you see MP3's in this locker?" "No, Phil. Not yet. What do they look like anyway?" "Not sure, Lars. Maybe we can go back to the office and get a special kind of dog that sniffs for MP3's. That will save us a lot of trouble".
If it matters to the Slashdot crowd, its manager software does NOT work well in Linux
Thanks for the answers, all. And unless you are new to Slashdot, you will realize that "how well it works in Linux" DOES matter here. Soon you will also realize that the Borg Bill Gates icon is not a compliment, not a "Trekkie denotation of love for this man who has given us so many great products".
This might be off-topic, but does anyone remember the name of that MP3/etc player that is shaped like a cassette and plays inside a cassette tape player?
Yes, Jack Valenti, not only does this mean more downloading of pirated movies, it brings us closer to the day when the average 13-year old with an average computer will be able to download all of Hollywood in less than 45 minutes. Sleep while you can, Jack.
The first result we will see of this is that higher bandwidth will mean many thousands of spams delivered per day instead of just a couple hundred in my inbox.
Seems to work well for music, there's lots of good canadian music. Hasn't been so successful with tv.
If there is "lots of good canadian music" only as a result of censoring foreign content, you really have to wonder how good it really is. You know, if you ban Linux/*IX/*UX and Mac OS, then no-one can deny that Windows is the best OS out there!
this isn't censorship, no message is being rejected or filtered.
Censorship based on supposed national/ethnic/etc content is a time-honored part of the censorship picture. No message is being rejected or filtered....unless it is foreign, of course. Then it is OK to censor it?
I thought the cooking alien with a head that looked like a cross between a basketball and Ron Howard was kind of cool, but what do I know.

They could call this film... "Trekkies".
Sorry. forgot. someone already did this.

This news item does have me concerned about my data. What is the top recommended CD-R brand?
So, not only will the Commodore disk drive provide superior preservation for your music files, it can play the music as well

64 rocket men on the pad, 64 rocket men. Launch one up, notify next-of-kin, 63 rocket men on the pad.
63 rocket men on the pad, 63 rocket men.....
"Oh. You said flying cahs! I thought you said.... oh neva mind."
"Cool your jets, Jetson (hehe). You'll come down when it runs out of fuel. That will happen soon enough, you'd better believe it."
Lars is much more of a Swedish name.

I thought at first that is said "China cracks down on Foreign MAO's"
The revolutionary physician who supervised America's first public asylum.
A novelist in the first half of the 19th century.
Yes, there were two.
What do you get a mixed couple consisting of a Ferengi and an Elf? A set of Silmarils that they can sell to the highest bidder?

Linspire, I'd like you to meet Lawyer, Lawsuit, Layoffs, and finally Languish.
Is the Lmusic module protected by FairLay DRM? How long before the LayFair lawsuits and LPods?
