"to the payroll tax sounds great... Tax the corporations!"
There are other effects, such as the fact that such tax hikes encourage corporations to move their operations offshore. And, depending on what part of the corporation gets taxed, this operation gets discouraged. Increase corporate payroll tax on employees? You get more downsizing.
"The enterprise of journalism, which is suppoesed to help citizens....The heart of the matter is that when Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity lie about something....
One problem with your argument is that you back it up with examples of guys who are (even at their own frequent admission) commentators, and not journalists. The second problem is that neither are "paid to lie" by anyone. They are paid to be themselves. If they lie, that is part of their beliefs. It is not like they have bosses who say "Here's a lie. We are paying you to say it."
The other problem is that you put journalism on some sort of pedestal. It has nothing to do with "democracy", and when you get right down it it, all journalists turn out to be commentators of some kind.
I'm organizing a Star Trek wake. All you Trekkies are quite welcome to come. It is probably not worth mentioning the the women's bathroom at the meeting hall is out of order. It's not like anyone who comes to this will be needing it (and the condom machine in the men's john is busted too). And yes, if you insist, you can wear that Wookie costume.
"If anyone has cards, or other hardware, that doesn't workplease point them out to the Linux Incompatibility List.
"
My "Intellivision" stored in the closet does not work since I dropped a bowling ball on it. Come to think of it, I'm 100% sure that it is not, and never was Linux compatible. Time to submit it at the linux incompatibility list.
I tried to read the site, but the desingers basically put up a "keep out" sign by having the text color be little different from the background color. I guess that should cut down on slashdotting.
Was wondering what Microsoft thinks of such Halo-ish projects? Do they care? Can they whomp you for it?
After this, OJ was nearly squashed by Jupiter (by Jupiter!). He started to get mad. He started to call all his old legal team: Johnny Cochrane, Jackie Chiles, Flea Bailey, and most importantly, Robert Cardassian. Seems Ol' Spoonhead had an inside line on a wormhole that could be used to get read of OJ's steller nemeses....
The magazines are too unreadable due to very poor graphic design. They are overwrought to the point where they make "Wired" look like "The New York Times" [registration required]. Too much white/orange/dark-green/etc on black ink.
The command line is easier for many operations, including most involving a single file. It is also a lot more stable compared to the status of a GUI on one machine, and compared to how GUI's vary by machines. Icons tend to vary and change location, look, etc.
Probably an IBM PS/2, 80286. (If you've never heard of it, check into it. You'll stop wondering why a PC's "PS2" keyboard will not plug into your Play Station 2.)
It's pretty clear why Arnold is funding this. He's hoping to have clones of himself resume his movie career sometime by the middle of his 3rd term as governor.
I didn't. I've learned the hard way NOT to click Slashdot links. However, I did do this later, and found out that my post was sadly redundant. The mods, however, never bothered to investigate and have heaped on the undeserved +5 that belongs to the parent item.

Who'd a thunk that "Star Trek" at this time would be a dead horse, and "Battlestar Galactica" would be hot?
A. All the better to ping Uranus with.

Today, I booted up my FreeBSD install and received a system message that Netcraft was dying.

I do not actually recall anything in the books like these hit-bots. Care to explain?

While the machines have evolved, the humans have not, so it should be no surprise that usability standards for humans would change so little.

I bet you think it is fun to give mousetraps and matches to little children to play with.
Just one step closer to the transparent aluminum whale-aquarium.
He'd better watch it before Bill Gates makes him an offer he can't refuse, and he wakes up with a penguin head in his bed.
Let's see someone continue the story, with Frank Drebin as the protagonist. Next post...?
did I just stumble into the Arthur Hailey fanfic section? Where's the cross-eyed stewardess?

hopefully, your insightful post won't be verizoned down to -1.
Where's the American version, that holds 400 jumbo passengers?

You know, if he were 700 years old, this revelation would be kind of impressive.
It's something, alright.
