Yes, you are more than welcome to refuse it. But you seem to be assuming that everyone else should too. In my neck of the woods it makes perfect sense to use SMS due to the cost of making calls. The idea of SMS spam is unacceptable to me.
On a side note: Have we become so used to being harassed via our mailboxes (physical and email), fax machines and telephones that we could even consider giving up a useful service just because its becoming the domain of spammers? I think we should just get to the source of the problem and have them castrated.
You face more "public danger" while driving to work in the morning (accidents, fumes, etc..) than you do from my one damn smoke that I may, or may not have in your vicinity.
Sheesh... Next you'll probably be telling us that colour is spelt without the u.

Ok, I'm not going to refute your claims, as you seem to get a kick out of it. I'm just going to suggest you get a more up to date distribution and see for yourself just how much its improved since RH6.
"Unfortunately there are 60%+ of the population who democratically elected the government to represent their interests"
I know this is going to be taken the wrong way, but just how many in that +/-60% actually know enough about the internet to have taken that into consideration. Our current government was voted in on promises of free housing, services, etc... not on it's policies regarding the internet.
The majority of the people who voted are more concerned with where they're going to sleep and what they're going to eat. This, coincidently, is also what the government _should_ be focusing on....
I hate f*cking credit cards. At least at a store I can pay cash. Until there is a better way of paying for things I'll be giving all this a miss, thanks.
When using Opera its sometimes (more than I'd like) needed to switch it to identify as IE or Mozilla just so that brain dead sites won't block it out. So much so that its just more convenient to leave it set like that. So how many Opera browsers are running around with an identity crises? And might this have any effect on statistics gathered on usage?
I think he is trying to say that once we actually find extraterrestrial life, we'll probably end up nuking them. Considering how much difficulty we have co-existing with members of our own species, this shouldn't surprise anyone.

So the RIAA can finally send a couple fatass execs out to catch all our TV and radio signals before ETs can "pirate" them.
Yes, but would it be legal?

I think you mean: cheque please.
I totally agree. One day I just had enough and my cellphone became a little pile of broken plastic and silicone on the freeway.
Just about the most satisfying thing I've ever done.
Cider?
Your equal? I'd rather climb a fucking tree.
No. I speak and write British english, thank you.

Did you come up with your sig all by yourself?
Well now, doesnt all that sunlight shining out your ass make things a little difficult?
GR is a joke. Sorry.
Kickass, now I just wish my connection was faster...
Does this mean that people will stop using ebonics?
"I mean this one guy think that he knows better that the whole ZA government ..."
Sadly, after living here for many many years, I think it might be true.

I've preemtively removed all felt marker from our office. Last thing I need is to spend time in a foreign prison, thanks.
Or novels(s).. The damn thing went on forever.

Maybe. but it is as "legal" as any other EULA.
Maybe changing the oil is not as mentally challenging, but your attitude stinks.
