  1. Won't he owe ebay the commision on the sale? on F*ckedCompany.com For Sale - On eBay · · Score: 2

Ok, so it's a publicity stunt, but if he wins the auction of his own site won't he legally owe ebay a percentage of the sale to himself?

  2. What if an athlete changed their name to Pepsi? on IOC To Olympic Athletes: Online Diaries Verboten · · Score: 1

We have a TV show over here in Australia called The Games, it's a parody of the Sydney Olymics organisers. Anyway, they did an episode last week where a gold medal favourite athelete legally changed her name to "Pepsi" so the commentators when they called the race and she recieved her medal would have to refer to her as a non-sponsor name. Amusing. The Games has been a great series, outlining many amusing political scenarios.

Avoiding the whole - damn I was dissapointed with TPM war, remember that this is the LucasArts hype machine all over again.. and alot of you are already sucked in by it. I'll be VERY surprised if the game turns out to be as good as you guys hope.

I went to my fav B&M bookshop a few months back to buy the next book after reading Red. I spent ages trying to figure out which book was next in the trilogy, I'm still not sure and haven't purchased either yet. Simply numbering them 1-2-3 probably would have helped sell thousands of additional books :) .. ok so maybe I'm a bit slow, but hey I'm just a dopey consumer.

I've had Laser Disc for over 6 years now.. very happy with the format. I don't have a DVD player yet, but I'll get one soon - only because the movies on DVD are slightly cheaper than LD. Funny, I also have that collectors pack, with all the Original movies and the book in the Black Case. Cost me heaps!

Not a good thing to put on your front page when you're trying to sell commercial web hosting services - you mean your systems/network can't support a high level of hits?!. Also what was someone saying about grammatical errors?

I was thinking about this about the time the mindcraft survey came out. It would be interesting as my company has made some pretty large personalised sites that absolutely rocket on NT. Granted they're not getting 30,000 personalised users per day (or whatever the real figure is).

I find it hard to believe that this guy has that much spare time to put together such a nice site. I reckon he probably hired some graphics designers to do it for him.

I saw them filming it around six to nine months back. Alot of the external shots are from the city CBD. The thing that bugs me is that they had to bring in left-hand drive cars to film the car scenes. What's wrong with the standard aussie right-hand drive?

Anyway it was also filmed at our super duper new fox studios (about 20 mins from my house) where Star Wars 2 & 3 will also be filmed!!

I know this is not quite related to the free source offer, but just as an example of how I have seen these offers managed by Sun in the past.

About five months back they offered free copies of Solaris for personal use. All you had to do was order on the web site and pay delivery. Five months later (just yesterday infact) I got sick of waiting for it to be delivered, cancelled the order and demanded a refund. Lets hope this will be better managed.
