    Great point.

    Most of the so called content that iPhone users are missing out on are Flash based games. Consider those in a touch environment, oy vey.

    Exactly.

    That a restaurant site or appliances manufacturer site (wolf stoves for instance) choose to implement and HIDE all of their content behind a flash binary is the bigger problem.

    As for :hover, a well designed menu system which may use hover will also use click to either display the sub menu or take you to the landing page of that menu item. Many are poorly designed.

    Not embarrassing for me at all. The algorithm for Google Suggest is not completely known but it does not appear to be based at all on personal search history. I did this search on a public, non-cookie, non google account machine and the same results came up.

    Thoughts are the suggest algorithm are based largely on current trending topics.

    I believe .... that it's true there is a serious effort to not criticize Islam.

    Like a few of the commenters don't you know this only reflects you, your thoughts, and what you search!? I don't believe this however since my search was done on a public computer with no history and no Google accounts signed in... I get the same results on many computers so unless Google has secretly installed sense-aware keyboards on every computer I might come across this list a result not of my own search history but of something else entirely.

    You should realize that Google suggestions are customized to each user. It's very likely that you are logged in or has cookies stored in your browser. Now, tell us, why do you think those were the suggestions you got? :)

    Nice try ... it's the first thing a colleague said when I pinged him with this tidbit.

    Just type the word "Why" ...

    First suggested results:

    Recently bumped off the top list of suggested search results: "Why does my vag smell"

    What would we do with out such an enormous cultural asset such as Google?

    I think Mark Pilgrim takes it one too far but he is also correct.

    Apple no more kills tinkering than do they sacrifice small children upon every product launch to insure success.

    Yet, although I will use an iPad in the near future, I would rather have seen a middle road whereby there is a seamless experience like the iPhone/iPod but is a bit more open.

    Then again, OS X is a great choice to learn ins and outs of an OS. Or at least you can do a helluva lot of tinkering since it ships with a decent LAMP stack, python, ruby, perl, etc...

    Once I can run Flash, Firebug, FlashBlock ... oh wait!

    Face it -- 90% of Flash usage is video (not necessary) and conceited designs (not needed) both of which can be done without Flash. The other 10% - games - it is great at that but native platforms are stronger. An iPhone game takes advantage of the iron, Flash could not.

    Sticky point eh? That so many lay full blame at his feet is a particularly short attention span problem. He INHERITED two wars. He inherited a shitty tax policy. Maybe he didn't inherit some of the home bubble crisis, what about the wall street fiasco? I'm not sure he voted for the Bush tax cuts on the top n%.
