This law applies across the European Union. My buddy is a consumer/education sales manager with Apple Europe in Cork, Ireland and mentioned this when I was discussing the purchase of a refurbed 17" AlBook a fortnight ago. Bought it, BTW, and delighted with it.
Off-topic, I know, but your use of French is funny. "Coup de gras" means a "blow of fat". I think (I hope!) you meant to say "coup de grace", a "graceful blow".
Was your first purchased system a Sinclair ZX81 by any chance? I think it was sold stateside as the Timex Sinclair 1000. That was my first machine, my Dad got it for me for Christmas 1982... stayed up through Christmas night keying in listings from C&VG (a UK games mag) on the crappy membrane keyboard. It had a whopping 831 bytes free at startup!
Your sentence structure is what I found confusing. It reads as "IBM does nothing other than media advertising", as opposed to "IBM does nothing in the media, other than advertising". Grammar has never been my strong point.
I worked on the 400 from its launch in 88 through to 98/99, when I began switching to J2EE. I have to agree with you on the "easiest development environment for character based apps".
The classic example are the Apple groupies that take that one step past effective use of a great hardware/software platform into the rare ether of religious ferver.
How you managed to write this without collapsing in laughter is beyond me... you're writing this on Slashdot, a site inhabited almost solely by Linux zealots!
My 17" G4 1GHz AlBook arrived Saturday -- bought it refurbed (i.e., in perfect condition) from Apple last week for only $2300 (taxes and shipping included). I am in love with this machine.
Silly boy... who said I supported Sinn Fein or the Soldiers of Corruption? I see that you made the classic mistake of assuming that the nick easter1916 automatically means "provo". Ill informed assumptions like that are just another reason why you'd be a terrible Finance Minister. Oh, and the threats of violence in your post.
I want to see Americans enjoy working for American companies, not Indians working for American companies in the name of lower over head and higher profit margins.
Once a blueshirt, always a blueshirt. You say you want to be the Finance Minister, yet you can't even throw together an essay that makes sense. Do Ireland a favour -- stay here in the US, foolish twits like you are needed to flip burgers for low wages.
Fine Gael Government?!?!?! Ah ha ha hahh hah hah! I suppose that's why you call it a dream. Seriously, though, what does Fine gael and the Finance Ministry have to do with the price of beans (i.e., this discussion)? Your post is as incoherent as the Blueshirts policies.

Flamebait?!?! Bullshit -- this is funny!
Fair points, but keying an SUV just makes you a petty mofo.

An explosive device that looks like a battery? Brilliant! BRILLIANT!

C# and .NET are already being given a "run for their money". J2EE is used more than .NET. Don't believe the MS hype.

A company that does virtually nothing?!?! Jesus, put down the pipe... IBM has one of the biggest R&D budgets around.
But the iSeries (formerly AS/400) does run Linux, Java, Apache, etc.).
(doh!) Never mind, it isn't tray loading, that wouldn't have worked of course.
Don't most CD players come with a pinhole so that you can eject "stuck" discs?
FYI, troll (or idiot) the government of the Netherlands is centre-right, basically very mild Republicans.
Wow, they're for real? Now that I have it on your good authority I'll trust this money.
They've made many contributions to Dutch society.
I'm not British (Irish, so our slang is very similar), but punter basically means customer.

You're confused.
I find it funny that I accuse you of being a fascist and you respond with threats of violence and invective...!

YHBT.

I love the happy ending to your story -- good luck in the future man. Sometimes there is justice in this world.
