In about 1 year time there will be live streaming services like Gakai and OnLive which will stream the images through fiber optics straight onto your tv. You will not need a physical console in your living room.
Yes, but as long as it is tied to Oracle, I don't give a fuck one about the dead platform that is Java. That applies to all the decent Java-based languages out there: Scala, Groovy, JRuby, JPython...
Too bad everybody hates the.NET Framework because Scala would have a better home there. Yeah go ahead and mod me down, but I mean it.
Gentlemen, let me present to you the REAL Chrome OS. Run native apps directly in your browser, straight down to a hypervisor. Windows and Linux need not apply.
It all comes down to the lack of focus and consistency with a few Open Source projects. Unfortunately making a desktop environment does not lend itself to a every-developer-is-equal type environment. In order to succeed a desktop environment project needs to be ruled with an iron fist from top to bottom.
See (albeit non-Open Source) examples: Windows, iOS.
This does not sit well with at all Open Source developers in general. The concept of a dictatorship flies in the face of whatever they hold dear.
So for this to succeed, somebody has to step up and create a desktop environment built from top-to-bottom with a no-questions-asked policy.
Good idea and perhaps may I suggest an Objective C to the Go language converter? My crystal ball says that Google is going to be hurt by the Oracle lawsuit and as a consequence will switch over to Go and the primary language.
I'm also wondering if they'll use a runtime or compile straight down to the metal (LLVM anyone?).
Yup. I was thinking the same thing, but I'm out of mod points. I wanted to grab a tablet PC, put a desktop or screensaver with a single image from Ubuntu, and take a picture of it. That'll learn everybody.
I see that WindowBuilder Pro can be used to create GWT GUIs.
Serious question: Does anybody out there use GWT? I went searched for good showcases and didn't find any good examples. If anything the examples tell me to stay away from GWT.

I highly recommend writing IronPython scripts and having them regular run using the Windows Task Scheduler. This has worked remarkably well for us.
I got laughed at the first time I suggested it, but now my IronPython scripts are well in demand for such tasks.

Can anyone explain what all the fuss is about ?
I forgot I had a delicious account. Right after I got the e-mail with the announcement I deleted my account.
A better title would be:
RIP BlackBerry PlayBook: Unfinished, Unusable
We'll never produce a tablet because copying is all we know.
LOL :)
She can't be alive if she's that old.
Not Victorian, too young to be late Edwardian but definitely not Georgian.
If she were Georgian she would be displayed in a glass case somewhere.

Ohh man I've always wanted to do this ....
WHOOSH!
Man that felt good.
I was being ... what's the word ... sarcastic.
Maybe you should look it up. No then again maybe you shouldn't. I'm being sarcastic.
I'm sure his name (John Locke) helped sales a bit. I wonder if the t.v. show producers get a cut.
Damn straight! Open Source is all about sharing, isn't it?
If I remember correctly there was some guy name Bill Milf who had a similar position. Did that ever amount to anything?

I like the new design. I think the icons are cool.

In the mean time, use Chrome...
