    They all supported it.

    HB 789, as amended, was passed. (In accordance with House Rule 5, Section 51(b), every member present must have favored passage of the measure, but any member may register their position with the journal clerk. No members registered their position on this measure.)

    Since you said you'd like a bootable CD for your load, I'd recommend The Ultimate Bootable CD (UBCD). The UBCD has memtest and some other utilities that will stress the CPU. It has dozens of other utilities that you'll love.

    Burn it to a DVD and it will load even faster.

    The article mentioned that aircrack would have taken a significant amount of time to get the key in this case.

    The article used aircrack. It says so and it even shows a picture of aircrack's key found message.

    This was not an dictionary or brute force attack. The key generator doesn't make any difference.

    I'll say it again, "You can crack a totally random WEP key in a few minutes using these methods." The article I linked waits for real traffic, but the FBI generated their own without knowing the WEP key.

    This doesn't show that WEP is insecure... simply that the key-generation schemes favored by many manufacturers are insecure.

    Even a fully random key can be cracked in a few minutes. WEP is that insecure. They are using aircrack and generating their own traffic using a reply attack.

    That covers most of what I planned to say, but I do want to add that the best data protection is "end to end". Don't try to protect every link you use or even the least secure one. Protect the entire data path end to end and you'll have far fewer problems. You'll still have to worry about traffic analysis, but that's an expensive one to stop.

    There are plenty of existing solutions for this (SSL, ssh, etc). You've probably already used them.

    Also, there is no such thing as a short-range radio signal. Anyone can build/buy an antenna good enough to talk to you within line of sight.

    These batteries also drain 80% in one minute!

    Boom! A fast discharge and be pretty scary. I've seen a few high voltage caps discharge fast. It leaves a mark on the tool used to short them (you short them to make sure it's not you that gets the mark). I'd be willing to bet if these batteries charge fast they discharge just as fast.

    I doubt it, unless they already have a record. If Ovid wants to see them in jail, he'd better contact the DA and make sure they don't take the easy road and just give them a plea bargain for probation. We need more people like him.

    I really hope Ovid follows this through and we get another Slashdot article after the trial/plea.

    Right.

    This isn't an agreement between two or more persons. The author of GPL code doesn't even know if I'm using the license. I never sign anything. If I violate the terms of a GPL license it isn't breach of contract. It's a copyright violation.

    He's not the only person to unfairly get a bad reference because you just left a place. It's happened to me once.

    I'm sure it happens. I was just surprised it happened multiple times to one person.

    I know you're on my foe list, but this isn't personal, I promise.

    I find your statement very strange. I've never seen a single bad reference (I hear most people fear giving a bad references for legal reasons). If you've had multiple previous bosses trash you, maybe there is something wrong with you?

    Like I said, I'm not trying to make this a personal attack, but I've just never heard of someone with multiple bad references.

    It makes me think of something I read in an AARP magazine (inlaw's, I hate AARP). It was an article about, "How do I know if I'm a bad driver." One thing on the list was, "Do people honk at you more than they used to."

    Please don't take this as an insult. I've read a number of your recent posts and can't see how you made it on my foe list other than the one that started with a lower case letter. Sorry, I'm a nut.

    Your boss is very reasonable. I mean he knows he's had you suckered for two years and figures he may as well get what he can out of you. This guy is not your friend. You might think he is, but it's clear he's been paying well below market rate for years. Why do you think he lost those other people? Now he's trying to guilt you into giving him something for nothing.

    You're in charge now. If you want to work with him, fine, but do it from the position of power you have. You don't need him. He needs you.

    I understand loyalty. I'm very loyal, but it doesn't sound like your boss deserves it.
