  1. Please, they sold out to the Chinese on Gauging Google's Gaffes · · Score: 1, Interesting
to make money for their stockholders, because that what they are required to do as corporation.

Remember folks, Do No Evil is a marketing slogan, not legal contract.

  2. Is 2.36 million a day on EU Says Microsoft Still Not Compliant · · Score: 4, Interesting

enough of a fine to make breaking the law an unprofitable method of doing business? I doubt it, given how much money Microsoft has saved up.

  3. Movies Suck? on Movies Losing Popularity at Box Office · · Score: 0

Na, they'll blame piracy because its cheaper than producing decent movies and furthers their political agenda.

Besides, you really think the movie ever takes personal responsibly for its failings?

  4. Time for an Open Porn Movement on Massive Porn Buyer Info Leak · · Score: 4, Funny

After all, free, as in beer, porn, means never have to worry having identity stolen or saying sorry to wife.

Plus, given the bottoming out production costs, we can easily produce porn of the same quality as closed source porn.

  5. New Face on The New Face of Script Kiddiez · · Score: 4, Insightful

Would seem to imply a new genre of script kiddie, such as old people doing it, rather than a mere change in behavior. And if they can track and shutdown is bot network, why hasn't someone arrested this idiot?

  6. Well on The Microsoft Salary and Review System · · Score: 1

It is a free market system, so they can always get a new job and be released by a "contractor" or summer intern. Assuming they do not have issues because of kids, preconditions, or some other factor that renders them unable to perform the way economic theory says they should.

  7. Don't be on 'No Quick Fix' From Nuclear Power · · Score: 2, Interesting

an idiot, I was referring to people doing things like say walking more often and not doing things like driving their car to their mailbox, rather than walk to it, like my old cul-de-sac neighbors.

  9. Quick Fix, Instant-Oatmeal One-Hour photo answers on 'No Quick Fix' From Nuclear Power · · Score: 5, Insightful
    do not Exist.

While I was shocked how little nuclear power would reduce emission and the fact apparently intelligent people thought this would be a silver bullet deal, it should not surprise anyone that

There is no quick fix. A lot of things have to change, like our automobile usage, suburban lifestyle, and the excessive packaging of one time use products.

  12. Anyone know famous female gamers? on Female Gamers Duke It Out · · Score: 1

I gotta write the standard, "women's history month essay". I rather write about them, than trot out the same ole Rosa Park essay,

  13. Approriate Law on Tougher Hacking Laws Get Support in UK · · Score: 1
Rather than constantly increasing the time for every crime committed, I wish legislators would determine the approriate punishment and stick with it, rather than jacking up the time served everytime some screams,"Won't someone please think of the children."

Of course, better enforcement of currently laws would probably deter more crime than increasing the sentence.

  14. Get some decent candidates on OSS Election Systems Desired, but Not Ready · · Score: 0, Flamebait
before you worry about how the votes are counted. Seriously, given that most candidates are basically carbon copies of each other, with only token differences, there no real motivation to vote.

I've voted in every election held since I turned 18,but the only reason I do that is avoid hearing "If you didn't vote, you can't complain", which is an assinine theory, given I pay taxes and served in the military, but hey, it's always funny when I get asked why I was flipping a coin while voting.

  15. Great Plan on Financial Responsibility == Terrorism? · · Score: 1

track people being financially responseable in order to catch terrorists. Because all know that while Jesus/Allah/ Budda (I love you all) excusee mass murder, they never forgive credit card debt.

  16. Relax, We're still going to the moon, right? on NASA Cancels Missions After All · · Score: 4, Insightful

Probably not, because history has soon that whenever a president is in some form of political trouble, they will often trot out "visions" of American returning to space with such regularity you would think they were smoking Peyeote, but they are shelved once the crisis passes or a new president takes over.

  17. Sounds Boss on Space Jackets Down to Earth · · Score: 3, Interesting

  20. Don't on U.S. Investigating Online Music Pricing · · Score: 1, Insightful

fucking bother, the last thing we need is the government making a production out of an antitrust or price fixing case only to issue some limp dick fine, which proporitionally is less than what I pay for a speeding ticket.

  24. They can resist the American Goverment on Google Moving PRC Records Out of China · · Score: 1

because they won't be kicked out of the market or otherwise sanctioned. The same is not true of the PRC. The Chinese government can kick them out at will, and probably will not hesitate, after they can still use MSN or Yahoo.

  25. Token Gesture on Google Moving PRC Records Out of China · · Score: 1
As soon as the PRC demands them, Google will hand them over and claim it was merely "following the law". Also, these censored results warnings are going to last only a few minutes after the PRC gets tired of them. You really think Google is going to risk billions of dollars in profit protecting democracy?
