  1. Apple could do it, Google not so much. Which, of the several hundred (at least), Android models is this controller going to support? If it's all of them, then the controller is going to need to adapt to every size, shape, and unconscionably out of date Android version out there.

I guess they could just support Pixel phones, but that's not exactly a large market.

Oh, right, it's the part where he said "[Trump] actually starts doing stuff" and because you're certain "actually doing stuff" means "turning everything to shit", it must mean everyone thinks that. But of course!

So you go right ahead and believe Trump is Cheeto Hitler, we'll be waiting for something to you know, actually happen before deciding whether we support that action or not.

What? If anything the paranoia is spreading. Apparently you haven't seen all the left-leaning conspiritard bullshit everywhere. You know, "Donald Trump is going to put Muslims into internment camps", "Donald Trump is basically Hitler", "Donald Trump is a Russian agent", etc, etc.

The left likes to scoff at the uneducated idiots on the right with their fake news and conspiracy theories, but a growing number of the "educated liberal elite" are succumbing to the same paranoid thinking as the rednecks they love to hate. You can go right ahead and think your precious college education prevents you from that kind of thinking, but it doesn't. Humans of all sorts take to paranoia and conspiracy theories like a duck to water, it's endemic to human thought.

So you don't think Global Warming is a Chinese hoax, good for you! Now go right on talking about how the Republicans are evil incarnate and are working to start the American version of the Taliban, how they all (to a man!) hate black people and minorities of all sorts (apparently even those Republicans who are minorities themselves, they do exist), and of course that perennial favorite, the Patriarchy: the vast conspiracy of straight white men who have worked tirelessly to keep women and minorities wriggling in the dirt since the dawn of history.

I suppose when "reality has a left-wing bias" it's not conspiracy theories anymore, is that it?

I, too, want Donald Trump to pick who is in charge of the health system. What could possibly go wrong? And just think about the endless arguments about whether the single payer should cover things like birth control or abortions. Really though, isn't it just time for the government to openly declare us subjects, and quit pussy footing around pretending it doesn't own us, mind, body, and soul?

  11. Re:single payer health care on Many CEOs Believe Technology Will Make People Largely Irrelevant (betanews.com) · · Score: 1

The key point that a lot of universal health care proponents miss is that the European versions were largely instituted before there existed a highly developed medical industry, and so evolved along with it. We, in the US, have the dubious honor of trying to institute universal health care in an already extremely well developed medical industry. Expecting "It's OK guys, Uncle Sam is paying the bills" to magically fix the problems in the system is unimaginably naive.

That's not even to mention people have little expectation that the government could manage to put together a system that wasn't a complete clusterfuck. Imagine we had a socialized health care system right now. Now realize that Donald Trump & co. are soon to be in charge of your healthcare. Exactly.

It's every bit as stupid to point to successful European systems (which have largely existed for a long time and have strong institutional underpinnings) as proof the US could do it easily too, as it is to point to the same European democracies as proof that any country can become a democracy after regime change. All they have to do is BELIEVE! Citizen buy-in and strong institutions aren't required at all, haha, that's silly!

Is it possible for a universal health care system to be built in the US? Of course. Will such an endeavor be turned to shit by the machinations of a few million interested parties, lobbyists, and politicians? Almost certainly.

And before anyone trots out northern Europe as paragons of socialism, consider that socialists themselves disdain the blended systems of Europe, calling them (as usual) "not Real Socialism", which is even more batshit crazy than European "I Can't Believe It's Not Socialism".

  14. Too bad for America that Trump has been playing 8 dimensional hyper-Politics while everyone else was just playing politics. This means that not only is he the president of this reality, he's also president of every other possible America in the multiverse. In some of these versions of America, there exist less Constitutional protections, and it is with these alternate Americas that he will implement his evil plans.

How can you stop an inter-dimensional Dictator like Trump? It's simple: you can't. Trump is worse than Hitler, if only because Hitler was the Fuhrer of one lousy dimension. Trump is the Fuhrer of all of them!
