however the article specifically states copying a "friends" mp3 and taking it home to copy to his own collection...
If I were to download a song at work or a friend's house, put it in my MP3 player I then wouldn't be able to transfer it back to my PC at home to add to my collection...
for working out/excessive movement, the memory chip models are definitally the way to go, but from my stand point, I can archive my Music collection, and play the same medium on my home system, my computer system at work and in my car once I purchase that piece of equipment.
might be a little more bulky, but you dont have to worry about a memeory chip going bad, and you can pack around 150 songs at a higher bitrate on a cd and know what you have in the player.
as for copying "back" to your collection, if its such a big deal to steal the music, borrow the CD and rip it yourself.
they can fight for it, just like the US did, after all, a people that gives up freedoms for security deserve neither. The Saudis have the power to change, *IF* they want to change, thats *their* option...

Hi All -
I think you all know that I don't send out hoaxes and don't do the reactionary thing and send out anything that crosses my path. This one, however, is a friend of a friend and I've given it enough credibility in my mind that I'm writing it up and sending it out to all of you.
My friend's friend was dating a guy from Afghanistan up until a month ago. She had a date with him around 9/6 and was stood up. She was understandably upset and went to his home to find it completely emptied. On 9/10, she received a letter from her boyfriend explaining that he wished he could tell her why he had left and that he was sorry it had to be like that. The part worth mentioning is that he BEGGED her not to get on any commercial airlines on 9/11 and to not to go any malls on Halloween. As soon as everything happened on the 11th, she called the FBI and has since turned over the letter.
This is not an email that I've received and decided to pass on. This came from a phone conversation with a long-time friend of mine last night.
I may be wrong, and I hope I am. However, with one of his warnings being correct and devastating, I'm not willing to take the chance on the second and wanted to make sure that people I cared about had the same information that I did.
Kinda like the John Wayne Commercials, but these too will lose their appeal... but then again, considering what HollyWood has been pumping out lately, who knows...
but at least in comic books, it makes sence, you have a character, that can and has been drawn by many artists, at least the CB artists can go out (if they are good enough) and start up their own comic with their own characters (Todd McFarlane is a good example, he used Spiderman and Ghost Rider to advance his career)
Musician on the otherhand are stuck in recording contracts that force them to produce music for the man while the remain popular
I still like DOS

The Rio Volt 250 is a CD based player so the SDMI thing doesn't really apply

I agree, but we arent talking about an "oppressed" people in a war torn , we are talking about a firewall/internet filtering software for the Saudi's.
no, they werent fighting for freedom, they were fighting to bring america down...
With freedom comes sacrifice, in some cases one's life, if you believe in it strongly enough you will be able to make that sacrifice.
The Afghan people didnt care, they had no hope, they have hope now and are taking their country back

change too fast? the majority of the Afghan population just wants food! (or was the US dropping computers w/ modems instead of food in those crates?)
Afghanistan is among the world's poorest countries and has the lowest per-person food intake in the world
an off topic rating for mentioning that I sent in the exact same article for submission....

anyone know of a dos based software package that will operate as a door to play these things?
