The fastest MP is the 2000+, while the fastest XP is the 2100. Does this indicate a speed penalty for enabling multiprocessor mode? It may.
More than likely, they sell hundreds of XP's per one MP that they sell, so it does not matter that the MP is "released" later. Besides, all they are doing is overclocking the current architecture. It is not as if every new step in speed is a newly designed chip. It is the same chip, it is just a matter of how fast you want, and how much cash you've got. This is why it is so easy to overclock chips that are "slower" or earlier in a release cycle, whereas the chips at the end (the fastest PIII's for example) are much more difficult to overclock.
according to the standard M$ EULA your statement "When I purchase software, I own the product" is invalid. you purchase the right to install and use the software on one machine.
your analogy of GM going out of business is foolish. i can still go to the auto parts store and get things that i need to make my car run. if you are not the do-it-yourself type, support a local garage by letting them fix it for you.
i am fairly certain that if M$ goes out of business, most M$ boxes will still work, just without support. i have a old laptop from '93, running win 3.11 and it still works, i just can't rely on M$ for support.
however, i do agree with your thoughts on software subscription; blech!
i thought the parent post was an ad. it did not sound like they paid for it. and as you noted, it got the "pretty neat device" when the only real comments on usability (knob, windows only, requires pc) were somewhat negative.
ever heard of a coal mine? the rock that they tunnel through is like a shale. not very sound, structurally. dangerous.
i think petroleum is combustible. dangerous.
most modern mining is automated. quicker results. less dangerous.
also, don't think of launching rockets from the earth's surface, think of launching a long distance space vehicle/rocket from high earth orbit. the necessary elements could be transported to the orbiting station via reliable un-manned rockets in the safest way(s) contrivable. it would also provide a service for the current nasa/russian/whoeverisnext shuttles later on; ferrying non-hazardous goods and people back and forth to this spaceport.
as for what to do with 'used' nuclear rockets? i think superman had a good idea; fling them into the nearest star.
Should be some sort of limits as the maximum amount of money that can be used, as well as maximums from any one source, as well as industry. Of course, industries will collude together, and offer contributions that "have no monetary value."
It could be a start though.
Of course, it is hard to find enough Republicans and Democrats that would be willing to give themselves such cuts...
Heck, we might even get ourselves into a position where there is more than two major, influential, political parties in the United States!
Did anybody actually read the article linked to this story? Did anybody check out this sample page of a online registration for a hotel? The article is not about those idiotic Flash 5 pop-ups and such, but using Flash in a meaningful way. Click on something, the corresponding information is displayed, but, the whole page does not reload! It gives a website the capability of being intuitive, hence productive.
if/. does it, that sucks, but if it is a different server, then i am only going to use mozilla (right-click on ad, choose 'block images from this server').
wtf? why can't i save a bookmark in mozilla in a specific folder? i am using 0.9.8+ on a machine that is not mine, so i save all of my bookmarks in a folder that is mine, with a sub-directory structure of my own. problem is, i have to 'edit bookmarks' to move them around, instead of being able to save them where they belong.
what if the labels do NOT own the music copyrights? does this mean my/your/our favorite artist could re-release an older work using a different label? would it not be wise for a label to be created soley for this purpose, and sell cd's/tapes to the public for a tiny fee (less than $5), only online, and with the corresponding artist getting a huge percentage? hell, i would not even care if the cd was shipped Netflix style, without a case.
"PayPal raised more than $70 million in its IPO. The company, which has never posted a profit, lost $18.54 million on sales of $40.4 million in the fourth quarter last year."
And why did they do their IPO now? Raise cash for what exactly?
I assume that since it is their product, the GBA, then they get to determine who is a developer, and who is not.
Regardless of being able to make ROM's, or anything else, it is in Nintendo's best interest to not have a bunch of crappy games floating around "for the GBA" that they did give permission for.
Also, it was determined in December that this item, the un-official developer kit for the GBA, was in violation of the DMCA, yet Nintendo is just now sending out cease and desist orders? Seems a litte slow, I would figure that they would just do a google search for the product in question with the word "buy" and that would get most of them.
Configurability is also very important. If 2.0 can be configured better than 1.x ever could, for me, than it will be faster, giving me more performance.
Curious how the wording only pertains to the sale of violent games to minors, it has no mention of what the law will be for possession of a violent game by a minor will be.
Sounds similar to tobacco laws to me.
(it was Hillary Clinton who made the push for video game ratings)

thanks OSDN.
unless they explode!

Do you have a driver's license?
What is on that?
Mine has; name, birthdate, address, height, weight, sex, eye color, date issued, organ donor status (yes), class, picture of me, and my signature.
And the state that it is issued in has my social security number, car information, insurance information at the dmv.
We have long been in this horrible place that people have only started to worry about since 09/11/2001.
St. Brendan is true. AFAIK Leif converted after he became an adult, came home and converted his mother, but his father refused.
christianity.
(note all others mentioned who "discovered" the americas are not christian, and that our history is heavily christianity based)
he who writes the history books is "correct."
They make a lot more sense now, don't they?

how is 498,000,000 10% of 6,209,000,000?
that is ~8.02%
padding figures by 25% is a bit much...
He is financing his own buy-out! A mix of private investors and venture capitalists.
The money (amt) is set, but the number of people is not. wtf?!
"The modified measures should deflate Microsoft's overblown rhetoric and apocalyptic predictions about the proposed remedies," Blumenthal said.
This would require a smaller ego, would it not?
yeah, because we all know that ALL non-microsoft code is good ;-)
Money makes the world go 'round. That is all that he is saying. Is he wrong? Prove it.

Productive for e-commerce sites that is.
i feel your pain, i have un-registered from freshmeat prolly 20 times, to no avail.

Jetta recently came out with a P4 laptop, in both 1.6 and 1.7GHz.
sadly, they do not sell to the public.

"What do you think they need the money for?"
Lawyers.

Yet another Clinton legacy, this time Hillary.
