    The functionality is pretty close to that of WinXP

    Oh, is that right? I can run Microsoft Office then, can I? Or Visual Studio? Or any one of the other industry standard packages I need to do my job? Or is it just that it has toolbars and windows?

    Also, easier than Windows to install, my ass. Wake up and smell the coffee.

    Seems to me the average USA Today reader doesn't have a clue what Linux is.

    The average USA Today reader doesn't know that burgers are unhealthy, or that coffee is hot. They're AMERICAN. ;-).

    but, really,

    No single topic is as confusing to new users as the class path. I get almost daily e-mail from novice readers asking me to explain the "Exception in thread 'main' java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld" error messages they keep seeing.

    Well, tell them to get fucked and go and read the Java tutorial then! You don't even need classpath from Java 1.2 onwards. Jesus, let's redo a language because first-time users can't get Hello World to work!

    This is a really wank article - I like the conclusion..

    Java needs fixing, I really don't know how or why, so lets discuss it. Arse. and Arse again.

    I assume that the Iraq comment was a joke. But it's a good example. Just saying "society has rules" and not questioning those rules is a good way to end up in a nation where you can't criticize your leaders, religion, or society.

    Agreed. But also, routinely challenging every single rule change with no adequate basis (such as in this case) is a good way to stop a nation ever developing...

    Imagine if the Green movement had been around when the car was invented - ' NO, it pollutes, we can't have it'. We'd all be stinking of BO, and living in trees - I've actually finished Uni now.
