This guy posted this same message twice in this thread! And got modded up for it both times! Plus, yes the site is crap and doesn't give you any reliable information.
Oooooh, mummy, mummy, that girl has stolen my doll! Listen man - I posted my message to help the guy out - I accidentally posted it under someone elses instead of on the main thread, so I reposted it there to give more chance of it helping the guy out. I have more adequate reward paths in my life than poxy karma points on here, of which I have plenty to waste on AC's like yourself.
"Ready to start work? Sure - just step up to that HR kiosk, fire up Internet Explorer(tm), and use your Federal Passport(tm) to authenticate who you are.".
Why would your business *ever* authenticate who you are in this way? Wake up, life is not some film you saw with your skinny-ass spotty mates last week.
It is not a long step (in fact, it is a very very short step) from there to having employers say to you "Ready to start work? Sure - just step up to that HR kiosk, fire up Internet Explorer(tm), and use your Federal Passport(tm) to authenticate who you are.". What? No Microsoft Passport(tm)? Sorry - no paycheck for you. And so on for other "optional" services that allow you to do optional things such as eat.
Even if this dreamworld sci-fi thing was to happen - so what? So you can't have food unless you have an MS ID? So? What are they going to do with that?
Dunno if you've noticed, but most businesses require you to use 'money' to buy their products or services. To get this, you need a 'job', where you'll have to provide your address, age, etc etc.
Get out of Star Trek, get out of your lame-ass sci-fi books, and LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD.
So are the government not allowed to have web sites you can log into then? Because however they do it, someone will have to give you an id.... maybe we should all live underground in isolation so no-ne ever knows who we are or what we're doing?
Are you? Why don't you put some effort in and explain what exactly this BIG SCARY THING is for all those normal people out there who don't shudder at the word 'microsoft'? Oh, and please mod me down two points, I didn't diss MS.
They just need to knock some up for dealing with the thousands of wankers (literally) out there:
Wanker: HI, how r u? Buddy: ok. I'm Wanker: kewl - I'm horny, what you look like. Buddy: I'm 16, and my sister is fingering me right now... Wanker: urrrrrggghhh
Would clear up loads of bandwidth for downloading porn and that....

Isn't Drake's equation falling victim to the classic human flaw of being too, well human-centric?
Er, have you not seen Star Trek? It is quite clear that all alien lifeforms will be humanoid, with maybe an extra flap of skin on their face, or something.
I still believe that if the bigs let us download MP3s for a quarter a track, we'd do it.
If the same tracks were available free then people would still rip them off. End of. Full stop.
Without protection to stop people doing this, it will never be financially viable - its not like CD's where you get something 'better' having an original...
Why not? Five dollars isn't much for some good live music. Whereas Twenty dollars is a ripoff for a CD.
What a crock of shit. A busker doing some half-arsed copy of commercial tunes or their own poxy concoctions versus some professionally produced, mixed work by an accomplished artist?
Plus, a lot of people of here go on about $20 a CD - we get buttfucked here in the UK on prices and we only pay about £10 (maybe 16 dollars-ish?) - AFAIK U.S. pay even less.
Well, I managed to mirror the front page before the machine went down (hopefully others can mirror my copy before my machine goes down!)
OK, that front page was orginally interesting because it was served up by a C64 - you mirroring it demonstrates what - that modern PC's can serve web pages too?
Everquest is fun to me and to those who play it, whats your sudden problem. Who died and left you the deputy badge for policing peoples lives.

I'm not giving anyone shit - I'm expressing my own opinion on a *discussion* site. Can see all your interpersonal skills coming out in style - losing your rag because someone disagrees with you. Keep practising online - maybe one day you'll be able to have real friends in the real world:)!

I KNOW this has quotes so can be in 'natural language',
asphincter says what?
A bit offtopic, but more entertaining than this story...

something you *haven't* signed can't restrict your rights in any way...
That would be like saying with the standard licences (which restrict your copying), that if you haven't signed, you can copy.
Obviously, this doesn't affect illegal actions...

So they're going to trust the information of every single citizen to a corporation that has a known criminal track record
Er, the government has a known criminal track record...

Must you REALLY break the scroller? -_-; Would a mod kindly delete/edit this guy's post? It's annoyingly long.
Are you saying a troll's post is annoying? Best tell him, and sure thats not what he meant to do...

Cos I don't think tossing out the odd album of songs is a real job, and nobody should expect to make money on it. Gigging is what musicians do.
;-).
If you would seriously turn down x million dollars and 'your chicks for free' for your music instead of gigging, then you should be sainted

If only the oil companies would allow it...
Do you not think that there would just be a new group of powerful companies selling hydrogen instead?
Are you insane?
Er, no, I was talking about the min requirements for this game specifically..!
System Requirements:
Then: Atari or C64
Now: Pentium 200 MHz, 32MB RAM, no more than 120MB HD Space, DirectX 8 Compatible 16MB Video Card, CD ROM, DirectX 8 compatible Sound System, Mouse
Well, I managed to mirror the front page before the machine went down (hopefully others can mirror my copy before my machine goes down!)

Are these people your friends, or just people you used to beat up in high school? ;)
;-)
They were, but then they moved on, got married to other sweats online, the usual....
Maybe you're right and people who play the game 6 hours + are just feeding a dependency. But why do you think that?
