Why don't people like them? I own about 40 domains and have nothing but good service. I don't use their shared hosting though- it was too gloppy/bursty.
My backpack has two large removable aluminum rods that run down the back. They look like they're part of the structure, but they're fully removable and actually quite effective weapons. While they have no cutting power, they're long enough and hard enough and have enough mass to be very painful when swung.
I'd much rather have a hard-line capable of carrying 16x PCIe, then just have a little box with cooling for the video card- plus that would free up the slot right under my video card....

I hate HDCP as much as the next guy, and DRM is by nature, broken since it has to be decodable/viewable somewhere.
I hadn't thought it out much originally and my initial thought was that it was just trying to get the ball rolling for HDCP-SuperPlusGood or something.
I suppose canopus or someone will make a box sooner or later? I'm still looking forward to a master AACS key discovery, however Slysoft has been good to me, so I'm reasonably happy.
I understand what you're saying, and I suppose its good that intel is admitting its broken, but at the same time, in this case, intel didn't really do anything wrong and I'm not sure I understand why they don't just mail their licensees directly- public confirmation seems unnecessary is my point i guess, but certainly some disclosure in the right channels is called for.
What I don't understand, and maybe this has been answered already, is why did intel even confirm this? What did they stand to gain? People will confirm this on their own, confirmation by intel only speeds things along to HDCP++ or something doesn't it?
I considered buying a PS3 about 70% for linux software development (GNURadio), and I'm sure as heck glad I didn't now as I would like to have played games once in a while- especially online. So for me, they would have been retroactively removing either the main feature I wanted or preventing me from using it for any games which still a large part of the purchase decision. As they marketed it as an open platform, I'd sure as heck call that false advertising. I would have been absolutely furious since they removed exactly what I bought it for- games and linux.
As evidenced by the scores of military and business users making compute clusters out of these, the cell platform is great for many HPC applications- and the PS3 was a great way to get at it and the other os feature made it feasible and even marketed to use that way (there was a web page about their "open platform").
"back when the word meant something else entirely"
Uhh-- a graphics tablet was so named because it vaguely resembled a stone tablet. A tablet PC was so named because it uses an input pen like a graphics tablet and you can write on the screen.
The word still means the same thing, at least since the advent of graphics tablets. Just because you're not necessarily drawing pictures with the pen doesn't mean its not a graphics tablet built into a pc.
I have two LG L1920P's (19") that were about $800 a piece. I bought two new LG 24" screens, and the stands are plastic, they turn themselves off and on and wont stay on or off, worst pieces of shit ever. I returned them, the new ones were the same, I complained to LG, didn't get any response. I just live with them and swear every time it turns off and I have to power cycle it for 30 seconds in the middle of doing something. On the bright side, they were "only" $250 each.

and turboprops are both a jet and a propeller

Works on Mediacom cable in the midwest.
So someone should rephrase "I hate drugs" as "I don't want to do drugs again, since I had a bad experience last time" to be meaningful?
Just saying...
Asking them to disconnect themselves? Doesn't google own a significant part of the internet backbone including lit and dark fiber?
google ipsec sometime.
Medical work is another story- it doesn't matter if you work for free, but you can't practice medicine, do surgery, etc, without a license.
I switched back because of the bookmark toolbars unremovable "Other Bookmarks".
So we should keep an unnecessary waste producer because there are worse cases for arguably necessary items elsewhere?
Just found this:

Sounds cool. I'd like that.

You forgot to take Michelle Duggar into account in your calculations.

I'd think the latency would destroy any usability on anything but farmville type games?
Must be majorly radiation hardened at 60k feet for 5 years. They must also have a multiple vote/checksum system?

What department at Sony do you work in, Legal?

You are confusing breaking the algorithm with breaking the implementation.
What if it turns out that the key is stored somewhere that can be read after "wiping" - or is an XOR of some easily determined value, etc etc?
