In 1985 my mom bought a Macintosh for her business. Soon afterward she had to sell it because it didn't have the software to help her run her business. Fast forward to 2008. Buy a Mac to run your business and you'll likely be shopping for a PC soon thereafter. I respect Microsoft because they gave me an environment to learn computing and programming with a lower barrier than Linux or Mac. I respect Microsoft because they help feed my family.
I like shiny baubles like the next guy but I feel disrespected by a product that does everything it can to tell me how to do things and what I can do with the products I buy.
I'll admit it, I'm a Sony hater. Been bit too many times by their crappy proprietary media, computers, interfaces and software. It's plain old DVD for me for the foreseeable future. In my mind BlueRay==Sony.
The trouble is that eBay is the "market maker". They provide the best market for selling used goods on the internet. Sure you could use another service, but you probably won't make as much money since their market is much smaller.
Plus the fact that I live in Florida, a relatively progressive state as alternative energy goes, and 90% of our electricity is generated from burning a form of fossil fuel.
actually, most studies show 35% gain from ethanol

soem references. And that's not including new genetically enhanced corn varieties or other crop/waste sources that will come along once the industry is established.
The best and brightest will be drawn to R&D type work and DARPA does little of it anymore. Not just DARPA though. I was in charge of an R&D project at a major defense contractor a few years ago and found it impossible to recruit decent talent. Microsoft and others snagged them instead by offering them much more money even though the project was very interesting.
And you obviously never went to a Scout meeting. Personally, I don't take my kids to Scouts. They have a ton of other extracurricular activities. But I don't crap all over the Scouts either- an apparent pastime for a lot of folks on/.
Just leave your kids at home playing GTAIV instead. Get a grip. If you stand for anything in this world you will tick someone off. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
too true. i forgot my razor on a business trip last month and had to use a three blade razor for a few days. damn near shaved off my adam's apple. whoever came up with the Gillette Fusion has my eternal gratitude.
Thisd whole story is a troll. Hey look, a McCain piñata. Everyone take a swing! Meanwhile Obama make an overt threat against Iran, about a complete a flip-flop as you can have from his lovey-dovey approach from two weeks ago and you guys let it slide.
I explained my rationale. EVERY Sony product I have purchased in the last decade has been a piece or crap, usually because of some DRM related feature or proprietary interface. The last was a pair of expensive MP3 players that could only be loaded with songs through a really crappy Sony software program and a nonstandard PC connector cord.
It's as simple as that. I'll steal content via Bittorrent before I give a penny to Sony. I have a pretty huge DVD collection and was starting to buy HD-DVD. But I REFUSE to pay Sony for their anti-competitive practices and consumer-unfriendly products.
It's a lot easier to be against things than for them. That's politics. If you are "FOR" something you have to be willign to defend and justify it, repeatedly.

How about the Franklin drive or Chang-Diaz Drive?

With no real competition in the online auctions and micropayment system, I don't see things getting better. Craigslist auction anyone?
So politicians can buy your vote by paying advertising companies but you can't sell it for personal gain.
Having written many Outlook Add-Ins, exporting Outlook to almost any format would be pretty trivial.

Nuclear is the best option. Equating it with perpetual motion shows YOUR ignorance. Hate makes you stupid.
All these are valid tactics for civil war. Armchair generals.
So you are chatting a chick up in a club and she asks you where you work. What answer do you think will get you further?
Network solutions sends out bogus bill-looking mail too to registrants.
Glad to see your Democrat buddies in Congress are looking out for you.

My mom called me to help her burn a CD last week. I could barely remember how. Media and storage moved to the web a long time ago.
