could you explain how the terms "better" and "superior" are objective terms?

I'd hate to think you're basing your opinions of all American's on a few of them, or even worse, on television and movies and the news.

    Yes, you distributed.

The radio station had to get permission before they played the song. You have the right to listen to that distribution via the airwaves. You have the right to make a copy. You have the right to write down the words. But you can't give it away.

if an author is giving out copies of his book at a store and a friend of yours wasn't able to be there, you can't make him a copy of your book and say "It's OK, he gave up his copyright by distributing some free copies" He just gave you the right to own your copy. That is all. Why would you now own the distribution rights to his work?

When someone transmits something, whether it's TV, radio, or whatever, you have the right to receive a copy via their method of transmission and keep that copy or make other copies for yourself. But you can't distribute it, even if it's a stupid decision that will hurt music sales.

Ballmer was saying Linux is not innovative, because Linux is based on a 20 year old operating system (i.e. Unix).

Linux is an implementation of Unix, so what Mr. Ballmer was saying is that Unix is not an innovative platform as opposed to MS Windows.

I'd challenge you to find a MS Windows "innovation" that didn't come from somewhere else, and that some flavor of Unix didn't have first. (Oh, and no hardware innovations, software only)

What was this supposed to convince me of?

Whereas in The Two Towers you have different races, nations, cultures coming together and examining their conscience and unifying against a very real and terrifying enemy. What the United States has been doing for the past year is bombing innocent civilians without having come anywhere close to catching Osama bin Laden or any presumed enemy, and, as a distraction, we're now--apparently it's a given--we're hell bent on increasing the bombing that's been going on for the past eleven years in Iraq. And I don't think that the civilians on the ground in those countries look at us in the way that maybe Europeans did at the end of World War II, waving flags in the streets, I think that they see the US government as Saruman.

That's a pretty severe accusation. All we did in Afghanistan was bomb civilians. We came nowhere close to catching Osama or ANY presumed enemy? Where does Viggo Mortensen get his intelligence from? He makes several comments that it should be OK to question things. I don't actual questioning going on as much as I see him making statements and then asking pre-conclusive questions.

I don't know how close we came to catching Osama, I don't know how many civilians we killed, but there's no way Viggo Mortensen knows that either. There's no way on earth he knows that we didn't come close to catching a single presumed enemy.

I respect Viggo as an actor. I think he did a phenomenal job portraying Aragorn son of Arathorn. But if he really means the things he said in this interview, he is not a very objective thinker.

Let me be very clear about this. Do I think it's wrong to question our administration? Absolutely not!!! Do I think America has done some atrocious things in the name of justice? Absolutely!!!

But to make accusations that cannot be backed up, to make statements and call them questions is just as bad as blind support for a country or political party.
