I was just wondering - if you sell used Toyotas (or parts), do you need to get permission from Toyota to name your dealership Bob's Toyotas of Smalltown?
My idea of a way to fix the system is that we should have the money and item go through ebay.
If you followed their history, you'd know that that is EXPLICITLY not their business model. They don't want to be a clearinghouse - one for money is bad enough, but being a clearing house for merchandise? Imagine all the logistical issues that suddenly arise, not to mention having to hire people and get and maintain warehouses. And then, of course, there will be their own fuckups.
The right to be let alone (as the foundation of all freedoms) was recognized by famous US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis. Unfortunately, it was in his dissent...:)
This is, in fact, man vs. machine. If this is a chess player vs a programmer, then it's the same as an engineer who designed a crane vs world champion weightlifter. Come on.
Well, the problem is that your point is largely irrelevant - we probably would not understand things you suggest as life, in fact, we probably wouldn't observe them. So it's mere speculation, albeit fun.
But wanted to. Seeing as how probably the majority require resume in Word format, I wanted to send some recruiters an "interactive" resume (with some macros, etc). Not at all malicious code, just highlighting in some ways various sections, etc. It was a sorta "hey, look at me!" thing.
Granted, it's a gamble. It may piss someone off. But on average, I'd rather have one person be angry at it, and one love it, than both just filing it with the others.
Since I got a job at least for now, I'm letting this idea out there;)
Actually, prior to the Bolsheviks, there was not much infrastructure. Stalin is the one who industrialized the country, albeit with totalitarian measures and terror.
Agreed that they should expire. But a labour you spent while working for an employer or a customer is compensated. A labour you spend on an invention is not immediately compensated, hence patents are a way to reward the inventor.
Furthermore, define work. Inventions are inventions, they are not labour or a product or a property
Invention are not labour, but they are a result of hard labour, and provide ways to produce new/better products. So why is it that labour and products are somehow different?

As long as that's not Billy Bass...
So if a product doesn't sell because it's
so fucking stupid, it's still is not
stupid?

There are laws against stalking, harassing
phone calls, etc. They clearly establish a
right to be left alone if one wishes.

So it's ok to invade US, because we have
weapons of mass destruction too, right?
How can you say "Wow" to anything on TV

I don't know what it means to
program a roboto to exist in multiple

How about a progressive poll tax? A millionaire thus needs to part with as significant portion
of his assets as a poorer person.
Because you don't watch the same movie
as many times as you listen to the same
CD.
I second the recommendation; and they also have
sections for, among others, Boston, New York,
and, I think, Colorado and Chicago areas. Check it out.
If the administration is doing that,
then they've got some good chessmasters
there rather than the usual bureaucrats.
How likely is that?
You mean this guy?
Forgot Amiga OS, and the great NeXTSTEP.
Then, of course, how about MINIX, TOPS, etc.
