IQ tests can be biased and based on knowledge and wisdom instead of intelligence and potential to learn or think.
For example people here on Slashdot, we are very good with computers and technology, we find managers and rich people are not as smart with computer as we are. But while we consider rich business people to be stupid, they find us to be stupid when it comes to business and business decisions just as we find them stupid when it comes to computers and technology decisions. The thing is that everyone is intelligent at at least one subject, maybe even more. Even if it is street maintenance that only an autistic person is good at, they are intelligent at that if nothing else because they really have a passion for street maintenance or whatever their interests are. Usually one is intelligent at their interests, and the average Slashdot readers are good at math and science and computers because of their interests, and the rich business people are good at investing, finances, accounting, and turning over a profit. The Dotcom busts showed us that when computer people try to run a business without any business classes or experience, they tend to fail just as bad as the business person who tries a computer business but lacks the computer knowledge.
Men and Women have different interests and are intelligent at different areas. It even goes by political party as liberals are usually better in liberal arts and science than business management and accounting, while conservatives are better in business management, finances, and investing than liberal arts and science. I think it is the right brain verses the left brain, as people like me want to try and balance out the usage of the brain to use both sides.
But my theory is that everyone is intelligent at least at something. The people that score low in IQ tests are usually smart at stuff the IQ test doesn't cover like NASCAR, the WWE/TNA Wrestling, TV shows and movie trivia, culture, traditions, social skills, etc. So one person's idiot is another person's genius so to speak.
most people use Dynamic IPs, so they can subpoena the IPs but they will get a lot of "false positives" to track down the owner of those Yahoo IDs. Most people do not have the same ISP they had in 1999 due to the great dial-up to broadband rush after the Dotcom bubble burst. You'll have grandmothers and teenagers be accused of stuff that some random stranger that shared a dynamic IP address with them did.
Thanks to the Patriot Act, the police, NSA, FBI etc can get the information without a search warrant. The Democrats lead by Obama had promised to remove the Patriot Act as soon as they took office, but why it is still a law, I'll never know. But then many of them voted to pass it when Bush was President anyway. Both the Democrats and Republicans are corrupt in that way.
By the way Yahoo uses web beacons to track web site usage and most users don't know how to opt out of that. I've opted out of it several times already.
Just spray a firehose around the area, and watch the water bounce off the person or thing with the invisibility cloak? Obviously the water, unlike light, won't warp around the person or thing because it is matter and not photons.
I remember D&D scenarios trying to find an invisible person or thing:
#1 Look for footprints, spread some paint or dust around and let the person step in them and leave a trail. #2 Throw water, dust, or paint around the room and eventually it will hit the invisible person. #3 The person can still be detected by smell, using dogs or some other animal to sniff them out.
Actually the terms are: Emotional Abuse Psychological Abuse Harassment
Sure someone has the right to insult, offend, or just plain state an opinion on someone else or a group, but if it leads to emotional abuse, psychological abuse, or harassment then a civil court can take the case. For the abuse, not the words that caused the abuse.
In this case there was a child involved and had his/her real information posted to Wikipedia, which might have lead to the child suffering abuse in some form. Usually most judges consider when someone posts someone else's real personal information on a web site without their consent that it is harassment. Usually real name, address, phone number, SSN, etc, which can lead someone else to steal their identity then the poster of that information is usually found guilty of harassment, especially if other people use the info to harass the person it was posted about.
Even if there is a freedom of speech and right to insult and opinions, there can still be abuse in some form and a civil case, but it has to be proven that abuse happened and the person or their children suffered for it.
This could be blackmail, it could be harassment, it could be abuse, or it could be a whistleblower if it was true. It could also be all of the above. Sometimes blackmailers use true info to blackmail someone like embarrassing photos, or expense accounts that wrote off non-business expenses, sexual orientation, or something else. But the question is, even if the information was true, is it still blackmail? That is for a court to decide.
Well IIRC Wikipedia had a policy not to let IPs of proxy servers and Tor IPs have editing abilities, but they cannot block all of them as not all of them are "known". I know because I tested it out one time and I was blocked from editing and had an error message that says Proxy/Tor IP addresses are blocked due to abuse. Now they may have lifted the block since then, but I think Wikipedia wants to know who is editing their articles so that a person cannot edit their own entry if they are notable enough to be listed and organizations cannot edit their own articles on their organization and many tried to get around that via proxy servers and Tor, and thus Wikipedia blocked those IPs from editing.
But I could be wrong, someone try it and see what happens.
Goodwill will take it and someone will buy it. There are charities that take printers and computers and give them to third world nations for their schools and poor.
Did you know that most ink carts are refillable in some way? There are ink refill kits, and ink refill services, and also clone ink carts that cost less to buy. My father refills his own ink carts and he barely knows how to use a computer, so I am sure the average Slashdotter should know how to do that.
I refill my own Laser printer toner carts by adding in more toner via a hole in the cart and a plug. Ink carts refill the same way.
Netflix also works on the PS3 system by Sony. My brother rents Netflix and they let him see movies on his PS3 via an App he downloaded for it.
Novell Moonlight does work as a Silverlight plug-in for non-Windows operating systems like Linux, etc. Some people want to boycott Novell because they licensed Microsoft technology but when you need C# and Visual BASIC.Net for Linux, *BSD Unix, and Mac OSX they got you covered with Mono, and Moonlight for Silverlight support. I compare Silverlight to Shockwave Flash, just another virtual machine system and they both kind of do the same things.
I Can't Stand It I Know You Planned It I'ma' Set It Straight This Watergate I Can't Stand Rockin' When I'm In Here 'Cause Your Crystal Bal Ain't So Crystal Clear So While You Sit Back And Wonder Why I Got This Fuckin' Thorn In My Side Oh My God It's A Mirage I'm Tellin' Y'all It's Sabotage
So many people want the LHC to fail or stop so it won't "destroy the world, hur hur hur" so is it possible someone has been sabotaging it from the inside or even outside?
#1 Internet posts must be done under your real name, no handle, no nickname, no fake name. If you are found not using your real name you will be dropped.
#2 Opinions and insults are not allowed. If you don't make statements of facts that are not libelious or slanderous, you will be dropped. If you are found making an opinion or insult or anything not a fact that can be proven, you will be dropped.
#3 No trolling no cyber bullying, if you harass someone in this manner you will be dropped.
#4 No hate speech against any group, you will be dropped.
#5 Visits only to approved web sites, if you visit the wrong type of web sites as defined by our management, then you will be dropped.
#6 No porno, if you access porn of any type you will be dropped.
#7 Windows only, no Linux, Mac OSX, or non-Window OS will be allowed to use our Internet services. If you are found to use a non-Windows OS you will be dropped.
#8 You cannot use the Internet for pranks, jokes, humor, or anything of the funny nature or you will be dropped. Be serious or find another ISP.
#9 No proxy servers and other software and services that hide your IP address. We consider this criminal activity and you will be dropped.
#10 No P2P file sharing, as a result bandwidth will be capped to 19.2KBps, use of any more than that will be considered illegal download of copyrighted materials and you will be dropped. Also see rule 7 no Linux ISO downloads either as we consider it illegal use of P2P networks and don't see Linux as a valid OS to use with our Internet services.
P.S. Oh by the way, spammers, scammers, get rick quick Ponzi schemes, and other stuff is allowed, as long as you use your real name and don't violate any of the other rules.
P.P.S. Oh by the way we made a deal with the NSA/CIA/FBI etc to wirelessly wiretap your Internet connection and give up data on you to the government for suspicious activity like breaking rules 1 to 7 or others.
P.P.P.S. Oh by the way this is now federal law and approved by the UN so now all ISPs will adopt these code violations.
P.P.P.P.S. If you violate any of these rules/laws or we even perceive or think you did, you will be Banned from the Internet.
Then why does Chrome block Adsense ads when the user right clicks and choose block on them?
I think Ad blocking programs for other web browsers have cut into Google Adsense profits. Google is going to have to find a new way to earn money besides advertising. Ad blocking is teh futar!
Why not just bundle Chrome with any Linux distro. That way Google can make Chrome the default web browser for Linux by making it open sourced (I think it already is) and bundled with as many Linux distros as possible.
Why should I use Chromium OS when I can download any Linux distro and install Chrome on it.
What makes Chrome better than say Firefox? When I did web site testing I didn't see a speed difference between Firefox and Chrome. Chrome doesn't have as many plug-ins as Firefox has, no easy way to block advertising (you have to right click on each ad and choose "block" instead of using Adblock Plus and subscribe to a list that automatically blocks ads for you) and having to right click on every ad that pops up is tiresome work and gets really annoying.
All of Google's web services work in Firefox just as well as they work in Chrome. So why is there a need for Chrome or even Chromium OS? What benefits and features can Chrome and Chromium OS give me that Linux and Firefox cannot?
You do realize I was joking about this whole thread?
Some of the comments even got moderated as "funny".
It was all to prove how silly the Video Professor case was. I took the ILovejesusontoast's unfunny comment and made a whole funny thread based around it. Then ended with a threat of a civil suit. This is an "Andy Kaufman" type happening, and I even had a few of my friends chime in for the pro and cons of this thread.
So you all have been had by an Internet Song and Dance man with Dada comedy.:)
Oh yeah nice to see the anti-relious side couldn't stick to logic and reason or even critical thinking and had to resort to insults, personal attacks, and other logical fallacies. Thanks for that people, it really made me laugh.:)
It is called "The Holy Spirit" you insensitive clod.
But proof is that Wesley King did use the words of Jesus Christ to make his case against bigotry. That counts for something, unless you want to prove that Jesus didn't say those words.
You obviously didn't read the article it was in Europe not the USA so First Amendment is not covered by it unless the EU adopted the US Constitution.
Secondly the teacher made an opinion about a student's religion and work, and was held accountable for it. Libel or not, there are other laws that one can be held under like taking away someone's freedom of religion or violating their freedom of religious expression, or a hate crime.
This comment backs me up and shows your logical fallacies and inability to follow logic and reason. You really aren't making sense and have to resort to personal attacks and other logical fallacies to make your point.
yeah but they can still install software in the "My Documents" folder and it needs to be RW for their games to work and save data files in it. Where do you think the rootkit and remote control trojan went? It installed in the "My Documents" folder even if the user was a normal user and read only with no admin password. That was how I found it so easily.
Virtual Machines cannot play their 3D DirectX video games. 3D Video support in Virtual Machines is in beta and doesn't work right for most 3D games.
When Virtual Machines run 3D Video and 100% 3D DirectX support then I will limit them to the VM. But as soon as I go to the bathroom or monitor the other nephew the first nephew will get out of the VM and do something stupid again.
Yeah but Windows suffers the same thing, when Windows goes wonky people will ask over the Internet for random strangers to fix it.
"Here download this program, run it, ignore any warnings, choose 'allow' for every UAC prompt, and then it will give me remote control of your system so I can 'fix' it for you."
My son's system got hacked that way when his older cousin came over and the game he was playing did an update and his character was hovering instead of walking. Instead of asking me to fix it (it was a Nividia driver issue) he got some random stranger from Ohio. I was busy in the other room with my wife and monitoring another cousin who came over on a different system. I had to remove the remote control trojan, and rootkit, and then fixed the driver issue, after learning that he let some stranger into my son's system and pwned it. Lucky there was no bank account or other info, as my son is too young for that. Lucky I was able to find the malware and remove it. Just to be safe I even reformatted the system. It only took 15 minutes for that to happen, while I was busy on something else, and my wife isn't tech savvy enough to know what the kids are doing on the computers. Watch one nephew, and the other nephew is doing something he shouldn't be doing. My brother had to disable their computers at his house because of stuff like that, he even tried Linux, and they managed to get Linux infected that way you described. So my brother zero formatted the hard drives and then took out the RAM, until they grow up and show enough responsibility to have working systems again.
Teenagers, seesh, looking for the quick fix, but adults are just as dumb and fall for the same thing as there are so many helpful strangers on the Internet willing to help/hack the system for them.
to CERN or some other security group, or to White Hat Hackers who won't release it or use it, but study it and find a way around it.
I would pass it on to some Linux kernel and Linux OS developers, and see if they can fix the security holes you found that allow the hacking of Linux.
If you release it into the public for anyone to download, dollars to doughnuts some idiot is going to replace the Bonic client with a packet sniffer or key logger or something else. It is like inventing a rocket or missile and then someone takes it, steals your design, and then places a WMD in the warhead and launches them at public areas. Just like we wouldn't want technology leaked to Iran, Cuba, Syria, Sudan, North Korea, and other places that could use it for better missiles, guidence systems, encryption, etc some cyber terrorists would use your code to use it for espionage on some Linux web servers run by governments and the military because they thought Linux would be more secure than Windows.
Yeah but if you punch me in the face, expect me to use Akidio on you and throw you into the nearest wall and use your attack against you. Ordinary people will get punched in the face, but we martial arts students will know what to do if someone is trying to punch us in the face. Grab your wrist, spin around, and throw you into a wall. I studied several forms of martial arts, and I could do a simple block, or just grab your fist and crush it with my hand thus breaking your bones in your hand, or dodge and do a hammer fist on your chest and crack some ribs.

Already answered the words of Jesus have done a lot to fight bigotry, and Jesus works through his followers to educate people.
Not every Christian is going to be a Fundamentalist Christian you know.
Some Civil Rights Activists are Christians, and thus Jesus works through them.
Barrack Obama is a Christian and is trying to reform civil rights and fight bigotry as Jesus did.
"The recent plateau in temperatures is more likely due to a natural cooling phase balancing out the warming due to increased greenhouse gasses."
Define what causes a natural cooling phase, and then prove it using scientific terms.
I really want to know how that works.
