umm...here is a tip...you are unemployed if you are getting benifits because you are trying to find work.
Nope, that's called collecting Unemployment Compensation Insurance.
if you do not seek out a job, then you are not unemployed. if what you claim as unemployed were true, then house parents would be considered in the unemployed bracket because they do not work for a 3rd party.
House parents put down homemaker because of political correctness, essentially. If both parents were out of work, one would put unemployed:P Of course, I guess both could essentially say they are homemakers. It basically amounts to the same thing: unemployed. It's pretty basic English: Un - Not ; Employed - Work, Having Employment.
Let me speak from experience when I say that just because you are unemployed doesn't mean you are going to collect money from the government. Not from the unemployment insurance compensation, at least.
whew... thanks for the link. I was starting to glisten there for a bit, trying to copy that. You've saved a fellow geek from a self-induced heartattack! Okay, now where's my jolt?
I fail to really see how more expensive hardware can just make things work easier? I've used OSX, I run it at work on a server... yet I can't see how it can configure itself.
People run these things, they don't do things themselves. I run a shop of 50+ servers... I'm the sysadmin. All but about 4 run Linux. Now, tell me again how we can reduce the head count by one or two people?
We have one of those... my manager bought it to find out just how good they were. We decided that we'd stick with our current plan and not go with Apple. However, we have found that the xserve is WONDERFUL at serving streaming video. It's super easy, and just.. works.
You don't have to roll your own operating system for Redhat, either. Geez, if I did that, I'd be going insane with the amount of machines in my server room.
The only patches I put in are RPMs:)
Of course, I can bet you 4 of our machines cost about the same as one of the Sun machines.
I'm putting together a Redhat AS enterprise server right now, and if I even thought of putting BSD on that machine, I wouldn't have support from Oracle.
I can't use Redhat 8.0 or 9, either.
It's Redhat Enterprise, or nothing. (well, redhat-wise)
Don't flame me about Redhat being our prime OS. I got there late in the game after the decisions were made. If it were me, I'd have Debian, or perhaps Gentoo on the machines. More than likely Debian because it's more predictable. I haven't seen Oracle support either of them though, unfortunately.
but they were all taken by fat people that should have been walking in the first place.
Probably because if they did walk, you'd hear this loud SNAPPING that would sound like a tree branch cracking off... that'd be the sound of their legs cracking under their weight.
Queue the replies on how women are slave masters, and you need to do exactly what they say because your just lucky to be looked upon much less graced with their presence in a relationship.:)
If you give me the same price, I can get your a pebble of partially melted rock from a rolling lavaflow and put it into a ring for you. You can rest assured someone would die trying to get it out, and a few would lose some limbs, also. I could even put together a portfolio for each individual, with pictures before and after. Then, your morbid, torrid affair with elitist my-money-buys-others-pain attitude could be quenched.
You could then show them the ring with the distorted stone in it, polished for shininess, while showing them the portfolio of the guys and girls that died pulling it out,
Oh for christ sakes, stop trying to act like the entire world is stupid and you're the only smart one. It's a proven thing, microscopic particles lodge into your lungs and then all hell breaks loose. It's not even up for discussion, it's just evil stuff once it gets into an airborne state.
We do have other technologies now that can easily protect the boards without resorting to primative tech.
I know people have been saying this in all the threads (well, towards the beginning) but I'm wondering... don't people use firewalls, at ALL?
Now, I run a pure Linux network at home (Redhat, Gentoo, Debian with a splash of BBIagent) and even *I* set my firewall up to deny all port 69, and 4444. At work, we set our firewall to block any port 69 and 4444 connections, also.
Not a chirp from our office, although the remote sites slammed our network hard because of it... though I have no control over them so you know. I'm a Linux Systems Administrator, not the security or network admin;)
At least in the 1600's they got the witches right. Somewhat.
Nah.. not unless they pronounced the W back then with a B sound we use today.
Most of the time, the accusations were made by women, or people looking to clear their "good name" by accusing others of "hexing" them into doing evil deeds. (such as sleeping with them, or something of that sort)

Do you happen to believe and hold true everything that you read in a book?
I'll reserve further comment.
Yeah, walk through Washington D.C., the most dangerous city in America, at night. That WILL kill you.
...
I've done it quite a few times when I lived around there... of course, you didn't specify what PART of D.C.

Non Maskable Interrupt?
Bad example. RedHat is not a supported distro for Oracle. It used to be. Better add SuSE to your strategy for high end products.
Funny considering Oracle says different.
The base Redhat distribution is not supported, however Enterprise Redhat is.

I'm running Gentoo, and I'm already dead sick of America's Army. Enemy Territory is so much more exciting :)
If I wanna never edit a configuration file, I'd install Redhat.
After that, I'd say about 100 or so miles inland...
then there would have been a plateued measurement.

dear lord, it's utterly disgusting...
Nah, if it was Bush's, it'd be "Oder" :)
Then on the 10th or so anniversary, you can take her to get it upgraded ;)
Now that REALLY brings new meaning to the Christian wedding vow, "Until death do you part".
Pretty much anything that's harder than aluminum will be alright in that case...
Unless your a construction worker and put your hands under a steamroller constantly....

In no domain do people jump up and imitate the things they see unless it is clearly part of an ongoing social movement.
Unless they are MTV fans and watch Jackass. Then, and only then, does this rule go out the window.
MTV has a penchant for drawing people who'd dunk their head underwater and wonder why their drowning...
I can't believe you're actually comparing downloading kiddie porn to being "colored", as you so aptly put it.
Since when has being a non-white been against the law?
It's a stereotype, about as highly inaccurate as the currently situation.
He even said that... so let's not get our panties in a bundle.
