You should check out sun's egrid software (they made it free last year). It runs parallel tasks on your local net. It detects when machines are idle and then gives them something to work on.
Don't they get it even if its some "trusted spam", I still have no interset in reading that crap. If I want to buy something I go and look for it. I don't know why spammers keep spamming, is it effective? I highly doubt it. It just must be because its cheap (for them). *Or maybe I'm complelety wrong and spamming is a great way to promote or sell a product.*
Diddo, Warloads kicked ass. I actually didn't get my 2600 until the original NES was out for awhile. A neighbor kid and myself bought the 2600 for $20 bucks with 20 games or something like that. Neither of us had $20 but we both had $10. So we bought it together and traded the system every other week. Forntunatley years later is still have it.
From the article.
"I'm not sure there are other areas where open source would work," says Sanger. "If there were, we might have started it ourselves." Eric Raymond has also expressed doubts. In his much-quoted 1997 essay, The Cathedral and the Bazaar, he warned against applying open source methods to other products. "Music and most books are not like software, because they don't generally need to be debugged or maintained," he wrote. Without that need, the products gain little from others' scrutiny and reworking, so there's little benefit in open sourcing
Just because you have see through concrete doesn't mean you will have see through walls. Those concrete walls, bridge etc don't standup by themselves, they are filled with re-enforcing steel. However if they get the fiber glass strengthed concrete stronger then maybe.
I've always wanted to buy a black leather recliner, gut some of it and turn it into a computer case. Have a lcd screen on a swivel that can be stored in the arms (like some trays on air planes). Just kick back and surf, game whatever.
IBM's power4 chip has 4 processing cores on a chip. Intel and Sun have plans in the works. Intel will do this to follow up with the IA-32 Xeon processor. Here is a story on this
The technical reason for the decision being based upon the fact that a game that is run without permission makes a copy of copyright material in memory, this copy is 'infringing' because it is an unauthorized copy argued Sony.
So its ok to have the imported game, but the act of loading the game into the PS2's RAM is where the actual illeagal copying occurs. So I can make n copys and distribute them to all my friends, but the "real" copying (and infringement) doesn't occur until the disc is copied once more, but this time into the RAM of the PS2. Isn't this just semantics. This doesn't make sense.
NTHS: How much space stuff since 1959 has been real? What space stuffis real today? Did the challenger blow up? Did NASA know it would blow up?
BK: Yeah, and you know why it blew up? Because Christa McAuliffe, the only civilian and only woman aboard, refused to go along with the lie
that you couldn't see stars in space. So they blew her up, along with six other people, to keep that lie under wraps. I claim that Christa
McAuliffe was murdered.
Typically (not sure for all) DMV's issue id cards even if you can't drive. Some of my friends don't have driver's license but they have ids so they can get into bars.
I agree. I'm sick of the bloat ware that forces you to continue to upgrade your hardware. I mean come on how much horsepower do you really need to run a word processor. I swear cpu manufactures are in bed with windows.
Intel: Hey could you add some more bloat to your system so we can sell more cpu's.
Windows: Sure, we were gonna do it anyway. How else would the consumer know we added new "value"?
I've seen many posts about the argument over the new sniper rifle replacement. What I don't understand is why does it need to be replaced? Can't we have the original weapons + new weapons? Why does one have to replace the other, in other words...more,more,more choices. I've never heard any complaints about too many styles of weapons to choose from.
Recently law makers have been showing resistance to industry execs who are pushing cd copy-protection. Here is a recent story on this. The recording industry according to this article is rethinking copy protection all together.
Lindows views licenseing on per customer basis. So if you have more than one machine that you own they give you the right to install it on all of those. However putting win apps on all of those may be a problem.
From Lindows site:
Does Lindows.com offer site or volume licensing? LindowsOS offers a very flexible licensing policy based on the idea that software should be issued to individuals not to individual computers. This means you don't need to buy a separate license for your home, work, or notebook computer. Also, users who supervise 10 or more PCs can apply for volume licensing by contacting licenses@lindows.com.
I bought an SDTV a year or two ago. At the time they were cheaper than the HD's (stil1 ~2k). It doesn't do 1080 but will do 720(i/p can't remember). The picture is great especially for gaming. However if you have a week signal it makes it look worse and even sat or digital cable (had both) looks really graining if the incoming signal isn't great. I nearly always have my sharpness on the really low side, otherwise it just shows to much. Overall I think its a great picture especially when compared to regular tv except the price still makes me cry.
the monkey typed in "Pray for Mojo."
or is every other ask slashdot about "What should I take in college?" or "I need to build a security systems help..." ?
A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.
I hope your not asking "Where do you want to go today"
Why would you use a monkey, they had to train him to think about moving with out moving. First off how do you do that, why not use a human?

In order to impress a more lasting lesson on the unknowing investor does the SEC keep their money?

Maybe he could team up with Austin Powers and fight Dr.Evil. And of course more femmbots please.
GreyMatter.
"ALL hardcore gamers use Windows for gaming. It is simply a fact."
Nice attitude, Windows is all there is for gamers please move along nothing to see here folks. Oh and the console is dead? Please.
I have a linux box running as my general purpose server at home. I plan to download and run my rtcw server on my linux box.
