"I wish I didn't believe him but first hand I went to the doctors with a headache and lethargy and walked away with a months worth of venlafaxine"
You do realize that "Venlafaxine" is the generic name, right? If the doctor had prescribed Effexor (the brand name) the addition of your personal story might make this more than urban legend.
Sounds like the problem isn't laptops, the problem is wireless network access - that's the only thing which distinguishes a laptop from a notepad as a note-taking device. Why not just jam wireless network (including 3g and cellphone) cellphone signals during lecture periods as they do in some restaurants.
The internet is "different" from a legal standpoint just as the dot-economy was "different" from the old economy
Perhaps. It is interesting to note that the "dot-economy" seems to have failed in many respects. Do we want the same thing to happen to the our legal system?
They had it in a cage and were about to send it into the arena to fight to the death. Sounds like it was only demonstrating self-preservation instincts to me.
her title is queen but she's an elected official - similar to the U.S. president. That her title is "Queen" instead of "President," "Empress," or "Monarch" is a holdover from older times when they had a feudal system of goverment. By way of example, imagine if the United Kingdom decided to start electing the King or Queen...
...but a properly designed relational based system...
I've seen far too many relational-based systems which were badly designed because the DBA/DBD didn't know how to implement the heirarchical structure properly
Oh, and since we are at it; now that we all have expensive 3D hardware, where are the big open spaces in 3D games? Why do we still feel we are trapped in some small room instead of a biiiig, open, (maybe outdoor) location? Why dont you feel you are entering a large hall, instead of a small room with two or maybe three floors? What happened to the real hangars, or depot buildings? The massive space ships, endless pits and towers, filled with 50n levels or something? All in the same space?
If you want an open 3D first-person environment in a game, consider Starsiege Tribes 2
