  3. Re:How about a little less noise? on Clear Case Roundup · · Score: 1

I have a Dell that I purchased in Nov of '02 and I can hear it only if I turn off all the other computers in the room, close the door, and put my head right next to the case. It's so quiet that for a moment after I took it out of the box and plugged it in, I tried to figure out why it wasn't working. That is, until the monitor lit up. A very, very welcome improvement over my PowerMac G4 aka das Jet Engine.

  5. Argh! Not Clear Channel! on Instant Concert CDs? · · Score: 1

Clear Channel and the RIAA are two sides of the same anti-music and anti-consumer mega-corporate coin. This is obviously some sort of thinly veiled and pathetic attempt for CC to get buddy-buddy with consumers that hate the RIAA but it's all the same lie. They want to and do control every aspect of most major city radio stations, homogenizing every single one until all the CEO himself has to do is push a button sending out all of the computer-generated crap programming to every radio station in the US. I will not listen to Clear Channel radio stations and I will not buy these "on-demand" live CDs because the less money that makes it into Clear Channel's pockets the better.

    Sorry but, not true.

There are a few "pot belly" body skins, at least for male characters, in the original game and even in Sims Online, just as there are muscular and skinny body skins.

However I do agree that eating virtual McDonald's should make your Sim fat eventually. It is a Sim(ulation) of what would happen in reality, right?

  13. Re:I do/don't get it on Apple Releases New PowerBook and the eMac · · Score: 1

Why the "eMac"? iMac for internet, eMac for education.

"i" does not stand for "Internet" it stands for "Consumer," which makes "e" for "Education" make a lot more sense.

  14. Buy a Mac... on Not A Graceful Recovery For HP Customers · · Score: 2, Informative

It really is too bad I'm missing out on all this fun... my Apple PowerMac G4, iBook, and G4 iMac came with not only a set of recovery CDs to return the computer to its original factory-fresh state, but they also came with the actual retail copies on CD of both OS X and OS 9. These "retail" CDs will boot, allow you to partition, and install on any Mac, not just the one listed on the label. No other computer retailer comes close to this level of flexability.

Restore to full "factory functionality," or start from scratch and customize with a brand spanking fresh retail copy of the OS? It's your choice... not the manufacturer's.

    Think about it.

  15. Just so you know... on GBA Internal Light Ready? · · Score: 2, Insightful

The GBA has a reflective LCD screen, hence the reason it needs a direct lighting source. And had you bothered to read the PM FAQ, you'd know that this mod is a frontlight, not a backlight.
