I wonder if it takes into consideration how man affects climate... Will it be able to predict new technologies in 100 years that could alter the earth's climate forever?
If I discovered this, I'd ask that all people making 10,000 dollars (american) or more pay me 10 bucks for the vaccine. Below 10,000, and you get it free, every 10,000 more you make, you pay me an extra 10 bucks. Then I'll take Bill Gates and put him in a room full of horny AIDs-ridden monkies and charge him half of his current worth to get the vaccine. (I suppose he'd need a cure at that point, not a vaccine, but you get my drift)
Then I would proceed to take over the world, oooh yeah.
Well said.
As someone who doesn't pray in the religious sense, (as I guess you could say I'm agnostic, though I never liked the term because it implies I'm not sure, when rather, I figure if there is something there, fine, if there isn't, fine - I'll keep living the way I always have) I've always taken "pray" to mean "think and hope for the best," rather than asking a diety for the best. Because praying varies among different religions, I feel that hoping for the best and thinking positive is similiar to praying for us non-religous types.
I'm very happy with Road Runner. Never have problems really, except some initial problems with the line outside, and everytime they have had a small downtime, if we call, they give us half a month credit (20 dollars). I'm just hoping that if this possible deal happens, it won't affect me in a negative way. Also, any other options for high bandwidth connections are extremely expensive in comparison to RR.
but now all the arcade driving games are totally, well 'arcade like'..
I agree, and I'd like to see a Gran Turismo Arcade game, with a damage model and vibration.
On second thought, that might be a bad thing, I'd go broke.
I agree with Nolan Bushnell on his idea that gaming can help education on the K-12 level. I remember learning a hell of a lot more from a game when I was younger, because I needed to learn to win. I also had a better attention span for a game than a teacher pointing to a blackboard and saying "2 + 2 equals 4..." - at least in the games I could see immediate results.
I don't think it would be the earthquakes that would be scaring the "international organizations" to their knees, but rather the sight of thousands of sweaty, wheezing geeks who probably haven't showered in months. Hell, the world could be for the geeks' taking if they wanted to. (I say 'they' because I don't consider myself a geek, I'm too ignorant to be a geek)
Modded down? seems you've gotten a +2 for the post. Anyway, I don't really think it is a bad thing either, it could even be good - a machine that acts as a computer/dvd/console/etc at an affordable price (if it is affordable) would be a godsend to some people. It does seem that MS is starting to get tied into everything though, and that kind of scares me. Oh well, it's Bill's right to make more money, but if I were him I'd buy New Zealand and retire.
Sounds cool, but I wonder if it'll have a tiny camera inside it so it can send Microsoft information about our habits so they can make new products that will suit us, therefor completely taking over our lives.
I've always wanted to do this....

Just the thought of an all in one type of machine has always been appealing. Granted, it wouldn't be my primary PC. Also, it might be nice to play mp3's with winamp and geiss running on it or something during parties. (Of course I would hook it up to my stereo if I had a nice one). A DVD drive would be nice to hook up too, but I wouldn't know how to get software to run the DVD software. A custom DVD player software would be sweet.
I think the fact that there are so many people (All my friends, much of my family, and me personally) have first hand witnessed or been the victim of police misconduct says something to the state of the police force in the United States today. Sure, mistakes will happen in a high stress environment that police deal with everyday, but I hardly think denying our rights (guilty or not) is a mistake. And if it were - get the offending officers the hell out of there. I also hardly think stereotyping is a mistake, and that is something that occurs every minute of everyday in the United States by police officers. And don't even try and tell me a black man in a white neighborhood is just as likely as a white man in that neighborhood to get pulled over for driving perfectly legally. - Just me vennting, but I firmly believe in what I've said, and I also believe there are many good cops out there, who genuinally want to serve the public for the good, but I believe they're a dying breed. Nowadays, it seems all the cops out there are looking out for promotions, not for public protection.
Reminds me of a Mr. Show with Bob and David sketch where everyone suffered from Immiment Death Syndrome... Basically anyone could die at any time... (like we all do)
Well, I'm worried I'll buy a shirt made in a sweatshop and occasionally it'll have "HELP US, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD" in some language on the front and back of my shirt.
have your shirt display some kinda winamp visualation plugin (like geiss, etc) and watch them trip out. "whoa, dude is changin colors... or is it the acid?" too bad it looks like phish isn't coming back tho...
What would you say the potential for World War II online is? I haven't met anyone who actually plays it, but I've been somewhat interested in it. Are there battles between whole divisions at a time or is it just a few people here, a few people there? Also, does everyone just sign up for the allies as I picture them doing so?
Of course, any sane person would try to avoid the grizzly bear in the first place.
not this guy: http://www.outsidemag.com/magazine/0597/0597grizzl ies.html
Although, I don't think I'd call him sane now that I think about it.
Or, how about: Episode II: Star Whores starring Natalie Portman...
Disclaimer: I'm not implying she's a whore, but I'd pay to see a movie where she is one.
Okay, I've had enough of the Florida bullshit. After all the recounts, I hardly doubt the election could have been rigged. Afterall, it was Gore who called for most of them, and was the only one who had anything to gain from half punched chads. There was no conspiracy by the republicans to win Florida, and people need to accept that. It's easy to say the election was bullshit because of what happened in Florida, but tell me why and how. And also, people like to complain quite a bit, but they don't do anything, which is the biggest hypocrisy in America today. What I would like to see however, is a president winning by popular vote, or me in office. Also, I'd like to see a more direct input by the people, where we get more power to make decisions - it's just too bad we can't handle/don't want the responsibility. It's a lot easier to complain about stuff when we have less of a say on it.
Ok, a quick question: Given a long enough descent and enough atmosphere (assuming it wouldn't burn up), would it ever slow down to terminal velocity?
Whoa, two cool games listed in one post inadvertently, Descent, and Terminal Velocity.
I'm assuming the sonic boom(s) originated higher up in the atmosphere, and the meteor probably didn't slow down much at all until it came closer to the earth. (Perhaps some sort of exponential slowdown - but hey, I'm no scientist)
Something about the fact that it's on Fox kinda disturbs me. I hope it doesn't turn the show into something like their "Did we land on the moon" show (whatever it was called).

Any ideas how this might affect Road Runner users? (Cable service from Time Warner)

I like enjoying myself too, through means of pleasuring myself.
