It get worse for "Windows". You have to wade through pages and pages of the sponsored 365 links before you even reach the real results? Who in their right minds would want to use such a search engine. If Microsoft bought out Google, they would just kill it. There is no way in the world that they could sustain its popularity.
Assuming it wasn't caught. Now somebody goes, makes changes and sends a patch to the maintainer. Isn't the maintainer going to see what the changes are? Won't a change in a totally unrelated file be very noticeable?
I'm curious how Apple came up with the 149 trillion year strength of encryption. They may use a zillion bit key for encryption, but encryption is eventually as strong as the user's password.
I have serious doubts about Yahoo's committment to stopping bots. If they really wanted to do so, why would there be so many pr0n bots in Yahoo chat? Is it so hard to eliminate bots that say the same thing and have profiles with nude photographs and porn links in them? Maybe Yahoo actually makes revenue out of porn advertising in chat rooms.
Porting Linux to an 8-bit system is no easy task. It is easier to port Linux to an embedded 32-bit system, by stripping down functionality and removing things like virtual memory, but to get it working on an 8-bit system would be very hard. Anyone done it before though?
Though it certainly hasn't been this cool, there has always been an option to switch resolutions on the fly with Ctrl-Alt-+ and Ctrl-Alt--. It used to be quite a well known thing, but I guess it faded into obscurity. The only thing that you need to get this feature is to make sure you configure multiple resolutions while setting up X. While you cannot see the resolution you are running on (xdpyinfo will do that?), visually you can easily switch to the resolution you are comfortable with by cycling through the available modes.
Not trying to troll here, but even with the latest and greatest Java (1.4), Swing is still extremely slow over X. Try using JBuilder (or any other Swing app for that matter) over X remotely. The way the response and refresh lags is just painful.
Take a drive over to home depot and buy yourself a nice 18v cordless drill (~$350). Bring it home and throw away the drill, charger, instructions, etc. You should be left with a nice hard plastic case.
$350 for a hard plastic case???? I've got better uses from my money, thank you very much.
Funny. I spent four hours yesterday trying to figure out how to get rid of the Red Hat Gnome main icon and get back to the good old foot. And now this story comes out on Slashdot. The hat had been bothering me for a long time. Finally wrote a page describing the fix. We hate the red fedora
Good point there, but even if you buy the whole album, you would still get individual tracks. Getting one large WMA file doesn't make much sense. How would you split it up track wise? The only that I have been able to get Floyd CDs written correctly is by doing a direct copy of the CD. Track-wise burning just doesn't work. (Or maybe I need better software).
...how long will it take to compile the documentation to make Gentoo a not-for-profit organization?
But but.... you forgot the URL. I want to see Britney naked NOW!!!11
It was like.. beep, beep, beep, and all my events were gone. Then I had to do the event again, and it wasn't as good. It was... a bummer.

Can you point me to some press statement or article that says so?

A website that goes by the name of penix.org? That just seems *wrong* somehow? :-)
Perhaps a bit of googling might help? mod_bandwidth

+1 Funny. I wish I had mod points.
Yes! We're really going to see yahoo.com getting slashdotted. Right?
Geez! Why do people have to whine so much about karma? This is slashdot, just a website. It's not the end of the world if you get modded down.
Ummm... touché
With English like that, I bet it's hard for them to understand you.

$12.89 for the whole album $0.99 * 10 = $9.90 when buying all the ten songs individually. Hmmm....
