anytime you'd like to show me a body count from the japanese nuclear plant disaster, I'm all ears. Then we'll go to kentucky and count coal miner graves. Wanna guess who wins? The second worst thing to ever happen in nuclear power or a normal year in coal?
just playing devils advocate as from a environmental point of view how could this be a bad thing. First off the US needs to do something like Germany and give economic incentives, ie a fixed price on energy. This way your not competing dollar for dollar with oil and coal.
This is a capitalist country after all, nothing happens unless there is a profit to be made. My only other concern is the amount of land that these wind farms gobble up. With the growth in population especially in energy craving areas like southern california land is at a premium, which makes dedicating hundreds of acres to a wind farm also cost prohibitive. Considering no only likes high tension lines running through their neighborhood it is reasonable to think that systems like wind and solar will have to think seriously about competing with local land needs.
just a thought windmills gobble up land like streetlights gobble up a parking lot. I think the cows & corn will be able to intermingle with some windmills.
Ask any Verizon subscriber how "easy" it is to move address book contacts in and out of the handset. Actually, it's really easy. Hop on ebay/google & find a usb cable (or go to those islands in the mall) & grab bitpim for free. You're done. I've also been able to have free ringtones sent to my phone via services like phonezoo.
what about the benefits of a good movie getting good word of mouth, so to speak? Thats in essence free advertising for the theatres. Of course, the movie actually has to be good first. Perhaps this whole instant communication effect will lead to better movies in general.
Peter: Free Tibet? I'll take it. *going to pay phone* Peter: Hello, China? I have something you may want, but it's gonna cost you. That's right, all the tea..
Snicker all you want, bittorrent kicks the/. effect on its head. I just grabbed the whole file in under 15 minutes, dl rates (on cable modem) peaked around 160kb. It blows my mind how good of an idea Bt is.
That's the problem though. What is Microsoft on the hook for here? From what I've seen, posters who are admining networks are just sitting around waiting for MS to patch. Read your EULAs, MS has no responsibility to you to fix broken software on any time line. So how is this diferent then OSS?

That's the kind of combination an idiot would put on his luggage!

I have to agree. Anytime a PHP book is reviewed, theres obligitory posts modded to 5 saying the web docs are enough to learn by. I must disagree. The function reference is nice (but your correct, Javadocs blows it out of the water). But for learning the ropes of the language, it does not do well. People learn by examples and tutorials, thats where the books fill the gap. I for one learned quite a bit from the PHP 4 Bible (too tired to find a link to it, but its fairly common).

of the guy's name holding the camera the whole movie. Hudson, or "HUD" as he was called. :)
So what was your point?
It's Hedley!
God damnit, you couldn't have posted this 15 years ago for me? That's the kind of thinking that gets people nobel prizes.
Half an hour after you compile the kernel, your ready to compile again.

Doesn't matter how good earth's resume is if all the planetary work is shipped to mars for 1/5 the price.

In the future, the Department of Homeland Security will be the U.S. agency that will manage any response to major cyberthreats.
I hope these guys have Microsoft's number on speed dial...
