Modern Linux OS-es are much more complex than say 8 years ago and 6-month cycle was fine that time. And that's why newer Ubuntu releases fell much more buggier. Ubuntu 16.04 was broken compared to 14.04 (when it just relesed).
I don't expect anything good from this release. I think Canonical should focus more on LTS releases. This 6-month stupid BS isn't enough for testing nowadays.
And what about the dependency hell? You can't run the newest software on stable LTS distros without upgrading your whole system. You either have a stable distro which runs terribly outdated software (like Debian or RHEL) or a bleeding edge unstable distro (Arch, Fedora and likes). Snappy solves this problem.
They should implement this earlier. Finally they did it. All 3rd party Linux apps should be installed like Windows or OS X, downloading the package from the website and double clicking on it.
Sad but true. Companies and manufacturers must think about Linux and support it more seriously, otherwise M$ will continue to f**k people's lives. Windows is mainly still alive because of the network effect, that's why they can release every crap without fearing to lose market share.

And of course, pushing Windows 10.
Exacly.
Linux needs Windows 10.
Oh, it's very good they patented it, nobody wants this crap on other smartphones.
Just use disk encryption.
Are non Microsoft OSes also affected?
Because they use linux ;).

Not surprising, Microsoft is a legal criminal organization.
