It simply doesn't matter. What America does is automatically wrong. Can you imagine anyone praising Trump's America? The very concept is absurd. Let the rest of the world handle it, they are more qualified and less racist. If America DID do anything successful, imagine the pride and cheers of "USA! USA!" from the deplorables. It's a lose-lose situation.

Racist police, monstrous environmental policies, stupid citizens and an educational system that does nothing but turn out compliant corporate consumers. How about some other country spend their money instead? Put a stop to American bullying and American exceptionalism. Honestly, every time America tries to "improve" anything they do more harm than good.

You really, honestly, and truly thought that your friend had been killed? Yeah, no. That's what terror attacks are supposed to cause. You're helping the Islamic terrorists win with this kind of behavior.

Oh, the empathy is there. It's just that there's a fundamental disconnect between thinking people like most of Slashdot users, and feeling people, who think most of Slashdot users are emotionless robots. I have learned that there is no reasoning with feeling people. You can explain until you're blue in the face that the risk of death by terrorist attack is less than death by shark attack, and it won't make any difference. It's not a rational response, it's an emotional response.

Remember when we used to completely freak out about Islamic terror attacks in Europe? Remember the suicide bomber at the teenagers concert? Pray for Paris? The Belgium tourism video mocking the idea that terrorist attacks were a concern? The Barcelona attack sure was a yawner, nobody really got excited about it. It's just part of being a European these days.
