There's one at gist.com that's pretty good. You can customize your listings, which I like because I only have basic cable (required to have a cablemodem) and I only want to see the channels I have and not be tortured by the goodies on the real cable channels. A few weeks ago they started running pop-under ads once a day, so be warned.

In my experience, there's a wide, yawning gulf between "Unix admins" and "linux admins". Don't trust the latter, they don't think doing a thorough job is required.

Nothing wrong with using an already-successful game engine to implement a new work. Re-inventing the wheel is wasteful.

I like the new Wolfenstein because:

    • The WWII historical aspect. The uniforms look great. The weapons look great. The Jerries even have the potato masher grenades, and the Americans have their baseball-like pineapples.
    • The weapons. Boy, I just love shooting the MP 40...just the sound it makes is great. I guess you have to be into WWII history to appreciate it. Most quake players will probably just say, "it stinks!" and move on to the rocket launcher, but to me, the fact that they took the time to model a weapon near and dear to my heart really makes the game. Don't even get me started on the devastating MG 42.

But the root problem with the whole "there's no strategy in real-time strategy" is that computer gaming is about winning, not playing. Most paying customers of gaming companies would rather rack up wins with a "wins every time" method than be forced to strategize on their own.
