Well, you touch on a larger issue, that computer games are inherently a waste of time. Reduced to essentials, games like Mario are simply moving values around on a spreadsheet. Your current level and items are nothing but data stored in memory locations - why not change their values at your own will? "Playing" the game simply does the same thing, only far more slowly and painfully than using a gameshark. As soon as one realizes this fact, computer gaming becomes rather pointless, and the ex-gamer goes on to other things in life.

In Southwestern Bell, GTE, US West, and Pac Bell territory, standard unmetered residential service is usually around $20/mo plus taxes, as opposed to $70-$80/mo or more for a business line. That's just the loop charges, with no premium services.

  9. Communication types on VPN Clients Not Allowed On Residential Service · · Score: 1

In the USA, there is a premium charge on any phone line that will primarily be used for business purposes. This reflects the fact that the line will be used primarily for making money, and it helps to subsidize the very reasonable residential rates. Seems as if cable access is in the same league, even though the telephone market is regulated and can't be compared too closely. If you're using your link to make money, it's a business account. It's all a matter of ethics, really. If your employer demands you get a broadband connection for your job, tell them you need the business-class service. If they're legit they'll get you the appropriate service.

FYI: the bomb that hit the Chinese embassy in Belgrade wasn't a mistake. We had blown up all the Serbian Army's big radio transmitters, and they had no way to get messages from HQ in Belgrade to the units in the field in Kosovo. The Chinese helpfully stepped in and began relaying orders to the Serbian Army via the transmitter on the grounds of their embassy. The USA was faced with a dilemma...if they accused the Chinese in public, they'd get the usual lousy treatment from the media, UN, etc. If they did nothing, the campaign was in jeopardy. Shockingly, the USA chose to do the right thing, which was bomb the embassy (which had forfeited its neutrality by consorting with belligerents). Only the portion of the embassy containing the transmitter was bombed, and the Chinese knew damn well they had been caught red-handed. The Chinese didn't protest too much, and the event provided a convenient way for the Chinese public to blow off steam that would have otherwise likely been directed at the Communist Party.
