The partition "looks like" 1GB, but the fact that's only got 400MB of data is suspicious.
This argument doesn't hold water. Are you saying that having a drive 40% full is somehow suspicious?
And what happens if the court's expert writes out 600MB of data to "fill" the partition? You better be a pretty good actor, or he'll see in your face that he's gonna overwrite your data. Hope it wasn't important data. It's in his best interest to wipe out YOUR copy and keep his copies. You'll never get them back.
Now THIS is true; you lose the data. But if you have the choice of losing your data or getting 15 years of assrape in federal prison, which would you take?
There is complete deniability. There are not ONLY 2 password levels allowed with rubberhose, there are many. So you have 400 megs of innocent stuff, then a password that reveals an additional 400 megs of nasty porn when they put the screws to you. Of course they know you're using rubberhose so you eventually give up the password to the 100 megs of anarchy and bomb making literature..... all the while your meg or 2 of accounting for you drug dealings is safe.
a lot of IT workers are anti-social
That's not true! I'm a wannabe IT worker,
(my emphasis)
Wannabe. Exactly. While there are social IT workers, gaining true guru-hood requires countless hours tooling with computers. Developing/practicing social skills takes time away from the computer. So the rule is:
Guru computer expertise is inversely proportional to the amount of time spent socializing.
Boy, I'm sure glad that this ssubmission made it in and my submission about Apple's ownership of the Alpha Blending patent getting in the way of the PNG format's progression [theregister.co.uk] was rejected.
Why yes, I am bitter about it. Thanks for asking. I finally felt like I had a story worth contributing to the masses.

Macromedia != macrovision (safedisk)
Macromedia is the company that gives such wonders as Flash, Director, and now ColdFusion.

Wait a minute! I thought "work stuff" WAS a code word for gaming!!!

Maybe it was rejected because it ran last week.
Now you can be bitter AND embarrased.
Release date: 2004.
Post it as news then.
I doubt that an airport run by Apple would go over very big, especially with that BOMB icon every time something crashes....
This sounds suspiciously like the plot of Half-Life.

Shocking.
I didn't see the lowercase w. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft's marketing picked up on this and used it. :D
Seriously though. This 'news item' is roughly akin to "Final Nissan VP agrees to stop calling it 'Datsun'".
Did anybody notice those goofy quote graphics? What genius came up with them?
"INTEL OUTFOXED THEM"
"IT IS A SLICE OF A SLICE OF A SLICE OF PIE"
Whoever it is, I'd like to SMACK HIM.

Lets see, I can invest my money in US Tech Products Inc, or Sleepycat....
One sounds like an industrious source of technology, the other like something in my daughter's sticker book.

The truly hilarious thing about your sig is that it is dynamic, so the post you're referring to now has a self-referencing sig.
In order to understand recursive sigs, you must first understand recursive sigs.
The really inspiring thing about this site is that it's created by Japanese and doesn't contain any bukkake.
