    VNC's one desktop is a limitation based on the fact that Windows does not have built-in support for running multiple concurrent sessions. If you run VNC on Linux you can get as many simultaneous sessions as you can handle.

    Well it's not truly an apples-to-apples comparison but for users from a functional standpoint, the difference is minimal.

    Why would I run a Windows emulator?
    To run the win32 app I need.

    Why would I run WINE?
    To run the win32 app I need.

    Of course there are other reasons to use emulators (testing/development environments come to mind) but it seems that it's better to see WINE in reviews than NOT see it, eh?

    What I do with the bandwidth on my T-1 is my business. If I choose to give it away, that's my business. There's nothing "parasitic" about it.


    Parasitic refers to the Wireless clients 'sucking' bandwidth off of you, the T1 owner. Not all parasites are necessarily evil. Only if those clients also run a host somewhere is the relationship 'symbiotic'.

    Good point. In fact ISP have been suspending/terminating accounts arbitrarily for years. It used to be that people were complaining they WOULDN'T take enough action to shut down portscanners etc.

    You really need to watch out for run-on sentences, and contradictive ideas in each of your thoughts. Reading a JonKatz essay is like reading a Dr.Suess book - backwards.

    You just need to learn the frolicking, pseudo-intellectually self-aggrandizing, aggrivating, writing style that Katz uses, not to actually convey his point, but in a crazed effort to replace the period with the comma, that same period which must have been used to beat him like a red-headed stepchild when he was a boy, always finishing the 'sentence' by stating that [AOL|Microsoft] is evil.

    Yeah right. Like you have some RIGHT to post anonymously to MY server. The case tested the right to defend anonymous postings from being exposed due to court order, not everybody's right to post everywhere anonymously. RTFA.
