I saw the movie over the weekend, and I thought it was pretty good, too. There is definately some humor in there for the Star Trek fan, and the movie's not as cruel to the fans as the trailers make it seem. It's a good film for any Trekker, just don't go in there expecting Shakespere. And, Sigorney Weaver looks pretty hot as a blonde!
Hmm that's not what I remember. That may be where the person that I heard got it, but that wasn't it. I heard it exactly as stated I laughed, I cried, it was better than "Cats." Thanks, tho.
What did this come from? I frequently say it, but I don't remember where I got it from. I was just kinda shocked to see it in a/. posting. Anyone remember?
Does anyone else feel like they are partially where they are today because of Lego's? I do. I believe that the construction and problem solving skills that I use coding were honed at a young age from playing with Legos. Anyone else feel like this?
That's exactly what I want (Mindstorms RIS 1.5). The problem is, how does a 23 year old man tell his parents he wants Legos for Christmas? I mean, I haven't got Lego's for Christmas in 4 years (The big pirate ship and the Technic Cesna set were my last ones). They're going to look at me like I'm nuts! Any ideas on how to tell your parents you want to regress to your childhood?
"Mom, Dad, you know all those buckets of Legos in the closet? Well, I have something I can do with them....
M$ Intellepoint vs. Trackman Marble+? It's blasphemy to even compare the two!! No, really, I don't think I've ever had any periphrial(sp) I've liked more. I got one of the originals (w/o wheel) while I was in college, because my computer desk had limited space (not enough room for the pick-up and move back to other side of mousepad mouse operations). From regular wear and tear, it eventually wore out in 3 years. The next day, I went and forked over another $60 for one with a wheel. I was never sorry I did it. It didn't really take me that long to get used to it for desktop use, but Quake was another story. Now, though, mouse sucks compared to it in Quake. I can spin the ball just enough to turn 180 degrees.
Not to mention, you have the satisfaction of not having bought a mouse from M$.
Hey, this could be a learning experience for some. When Mozilla is released, and becomes popular overnight, some users will think "hey, the media has no idea what they're talking about." I beleve after the first release, there will be a wave of developers to jump on board. I know I'm not going to use IE. I just really don't want MS controlling the standards on the internet.
Actually, it says 3840x1024, so it's just 3 1280x1024 screens together. You could run Quake in one, and have your desktop in the other two. It'll work real well, one XFree gets the Xinerama extensions working. -G
Did anyone else notice that they were getting freon out of the air conditioner to get high? A 7th grader? Isn't this more disturbing than talking aboutshooting someone? -G
Ahem... You're kidding, right? I can just imagine what a nightmare that would be (although there are a lot of people out there that do that). Slow webserver that never stays up, huge, bulky, slow CGI's, and, when you get an error, call up your admin:
"Hey, can you walk over and hit 'Ok' on that exception violation?"
I have run DOS batch files for CGI under Apache for NT. Nothing serious, just seeing if it could be done.
Basically, the way I see it, there are a lot of things going on out there "in the name of God" that are neither inspired or endorsed by God. Many Christians who are young in their faith often think "what can I do for God?" and then go off in that direction and do it. The real question one needs to ask themselves is "what would God have me to do for Him?"
Katz and the other non-Christians should not be flamed for their opinions. They are doing their best to interpret a relationship of a spiritual nature by only using their earthly vision. As the old saying goes, "ignorance breeds contempt." I don't mean that as a flame, but Katz is ignorant of the things of God. It just makes it easier for him to reject God by lumping all Christians into a large group, and calling anything that comes out of it "hypocritical" or just downright "stupid."
Instead of flaming him, we should pray as Christians that one day he stops and examines why he is running from God.
The bad news is that if "The War In Heaven" sells, expect a slew of Christian (and soon, no doubt, Jewish and Muslim) save-the-soul games marketed by greedy Web entrepeneurs who want to appear wholesome while raking in big money.
I think he's trying to say that Christians (and other religous people) shouldn't be rich. I don't get this viewpoint.
"What we I give is created tools like to word processor that lets people express their ideas and we' king not at all involved in how they choose to use it."
Even as a white male, I take offense to this. The reason is that you use the nature of God for your sexist, racist rant. God is not a republican, democrat, independant, or libitarian. God is God.
The fact that you used him as a reason for your own shortcomings is appaling.
Sure, I even posted a sexist comment on this, but more as just a jab. I did not intend to discourage women engineers, nor did I bring the name of God into it.
Yah, my question is: Why doesn't Mtv play music anymore? Do they really think anyone's watching the mindless drivel on their station? Can you do anything about this? Why am I even asking you?
1) A shotgun

Everything else can be looted easily among the chaos.

Ummm, most applications should be larger than your kernel... In Linux, anyway.
