Yeah, yeah, yeah... how much to get body-modded like Wolverine? I'd much rather have adamantium-laced bones and claws than some pansy cape and a penchant for cave-dwelling.
Here's what they do: pose real-world puzzles/problems, along with all (within reason) known variables. Then let the Myst players decide which ones they want to work on to help drive humanity into the future. End world hunger? Cure cancer? Stop homelesness? Use the metric system? No problem... the "Mysties" are on it.
But "Mom and Pop" don't want to have to deal with that stuff... a little hand holding and an easy install are all they want, because at the end of the day, all they care about is that they can get their email, surf the web, and little Johnny and Janie can look up their homework assignments (etc).
The OS that will rule will be the easiest, the fastest, and the most compatible with anything that the end-user wants to install and/or use.
I've been an avid player of RPG's for a little over 20 years now, and I've seen many gaming companies come and go. However, I certainly don't see RPG's going out; ever. And I certainly can't see a publishing juggernaut such as SJGames going out because of this! Granted, I've never been a real big fan of SJGames... don't get me wrong, there's plenty there that I like: CarWars, Illuminati, and some others are pretty fun. But for me; DnD is my first and last love as far as gaming goes.
I'm always a little saddened when I walk into a gaming shop and I see most of the younger crowd playing Magic ( or, *shudder*, Pokemon ), Warhammer, and the various Vampire games... that's all well and good I guess, but too many times I see nothing but Hack-n-slash/Monty haul campaigns being played, be it DnD or any of those other games. It's much more fun, and challenging, to not just run in and kill everything in the room.

Now I can play Ultima Underworld on my cellphone!

Exactly! :)

Don't forget that the entire world is reporting on this as well... the BBC in particular has some excellent resources.

Whatever happened to actual "Role Playing"?
