Oops
Don't worry, if you don't see XMMS in the list of files, it's there. Just click on any of the other projects.
I'll take care of that as well as get the latest pre-release of XMMS up, over the weekend.
Actually XMMS has the ability to make use of 3D-NOW!
It's not what you might think though.
It's go tnothing to do with 3D, but it does make it write to disk MUCH faster.
On my site K6-rpms ou can find XMMS rpms that take advantage of this.
Quick!
Go to Freshmeat
Read the names of the first two projects. What are the odds?
Maybe it'll be a little further down, but you'll know the ones I mean.

Hmmmm.
The last time I checked, we were pretty dependant on other life to survive ourselves.
So, unless we want to spend our entire lives sealed up in some grounded space capsule, while we try and wait for imported Earth life to thrive on a lifeless rock, we are going to need to settle on a planet that has life. Earthlike life.
Ideally we'd find green plants that both produce oxygen and food.
I know the likely hood of this is small, but so does the idea of colonizing a rock that is incapable of supporting life.
Think about it. . . if there's NO life there, there's probably a reason.

Someone else mentioned Star Trek, presumably concerning the "Prime Directive." Ever notice that obviously no such "ideal" existed in the Star Wars universe. Civilizations seem to have gotten the space flight, weapon, and heavy sliding automatic door technology whereever they were in their development.
"Me, I'm waiting for the day when I plug the quantum computer in my coffee cup in..."
Remember, they're trying to get this to work at room temperature. That's a nasty coffee. You want a nice piping HOT coffee, the kind that gets McDonalds sued, plug it into an AMD chip or any overclocked processor of the x86 line.
I think I'll run out and patent that idea: CPU heat sink attached to a travel water heater. Great for International travel with your laptop.

No,
I think it's the MPAA we've got to look out for in this case. I mean is GPG for general audience or does it require parental guidance? Who knows? And don't even think about GPG-13. That just opens up a whole other can of worms.
The MPAA has a pretty nasty track record with open source. I think GNU is playing with fire here.
Speaking of which, doesn't The Great Space Coaster have a trademark on Gary GNU the newscaster.
Watch out FSF you're going down. and a tripped out whacked kids show is going to do it.
Jonathan
Is that STILL on? Sheesh, I remember watching Neighbors years ago, here in the US only because I live close enough to Canada to pick up their TV and the CBC was playing it at the time. Then they stopped and that was that.
The only actor on that show that ever got any sort of fame in the US was Christian Schmid (sp?).
OH all these character references do bring back some memories.
It always seemed to me that characters would take turns being the villianous one for a while.
All rise (where ever you are).
Michigan 1st cyber-district court now in session.
The Honorable Max Headroom presiding.
"You may-may-may be seated."

I saw that all the time on Dr. Who.
For some reason they all wore rubber suits and hissed or growled.
Jonathan
...a beowulf cluster of these.
Watch out Rockettes!
