I think it's a double edge sword. While what you say is correct, the reverse might be true. Say theres a disease that affects humans but not sheep, as the sheep had developed an effective antibody against it.
What if the sheep with such a transplant managed to adapt it's antibody to protect it's implant?
I'm not a doctor so i have no idea if it's possible, but i'm thinking along the lines of how we produce snake anti-venon with the aid of horses.
10.2 Billion
on
Gone Phishing?
·
· Score: 2, Interesting
Did the industry really loose 10.2 billion dollars to scammers or did this number come from the same process the RIAA and the BSA used to estimate loss to piracy?
Personally, I think something is seriously wrong if phishing alone managed to net scammers $10.2 billion. Maybe if it was world wide consumer finance fraud combined it would be more believeable.
Same here. My local TV station is currently airing season 1 of Enterprise.... And i've seen every episode between the pilot and this weeks pre-air which is due in the next 2 hours.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if they made it detachable with a cord and some sort of clamp? You could stick it out the window of a train or car and tied with a regular battery and a nice propeller, you could have power for your laptop through long journeys.
That won't work. You know why? Because say if any part of your PC broke, who do you bring it back to for warrenty? Thats right, the shop you bought it from.
Imagine you went through all the trouble for an $1 piece of paper, sticker and box from MS, only to find that one week later, your $500 video card broke and the shop you got it from was taken down... by you... talk about shooting self in foot.
Exactly my sentiment. If i'm going to fork over money, the lables had damn well have a huge pipe to directly send me my file. Why should i be paying their distribution costs?
If it were an independant and cash strapped band then i'd be inclined to do so, but we are talking about a stupid entity whose sole purpose is to collect borderline illegal amounts of money for distributing content. They should at least do their stated job.
The thing that is going to save (slacking) animation students who finished animating their piece 1 week before deadline but need 1 month to render on their workstation.
China legalises nude sun bathing. An official, quoted on condition of anonymity, said that studies have shown that Chinese women, especially those between the ages of 18 to 29 seem to suffer from low levels of vitamin D and are thus encouraged to sunbath... in the nude... on clear cloudless days...
You'll note the use of quotation marks here, and this is because this scene stands alongside Greedo shooting first and Jabba's appearance in A New Hope as one of my hated alterations.
The reason why Costco can do this is because it is a very high volume sales enviorment. Manufecturers fight to get their products displayed and sold at CostCo, so this gives CostCo an advantage.
It can set it's return policy and manufecturers who want their stuff displayed there will have to agree to it. So effectively all CostCo does is do soem paperwork and benefit from customer goodwill, and the cost of the returns and other liabilities are shifted to the manufecturers.
The terms slant very much in CostCo's favour, but the sheer volume of sales justify this to manufecturers.
Ok so say the police raid a house or some building that was being used to carry out illigal activity. So after the raid, the cops seal the house, put up some crime scene tape, a notice that the house is sealed by the police and maybe an anti-crime poster. Reasonable yes?
The way i see it, it's the same thing, except instead of physical property, it's a website.
I hope they do.. and piss off a few people in the service. Then next weeks head line will be about the RIAA being raided and it's entire board arrested for conspiracy, intimidation, extortion and organised crime.

Ignore him.
...Hang out in the right bars...
Unless you're working in Saudi Arabia, in which case stay home and avoid alcohol related establishments like the plague.

If only planes had windows...
A prominent female fashion guru has just announced his new master piece, a dress made with 'Flat Projection Display' as it's only fabric.
"With it, ladies all over may customise their clothing with any pattern or picture they want", beamed the millionaire dressmaker.
However, he declined comment on what would happen to the otherwise transparent dress after it's power supply, rated for 23 minutes of use, failed.

I suppose about as long as it took Microsoft and Sony to DMCA the crap out of the modchips for their respective consoles....
ain't happenin' yet.

Yes i know.. It would have spoiled the joke. :D
Microsoft recommends Firefox
Me charging $60 an hour and HijackThis.
Seriously, I've yet to see spyware that booting into SafeMode and running HijackThis won't cure.
The thing that is going to save (slacking) animation students who finished animating their piece 1 week before deadline but need 1 month to render on their workstation.
Dang it, how on earth did you forget FireFox? It's basicly the magic bullet that will remove most spyware related issues.
I will have your geek card back now.
Firing 100 very big rockets into the sky isn't exactly an easy thing to hide. They may as well PR over it then have people ask questions.

The artists in the prop department likely rigged some cool looking case from $5 worth of plexiglass. Ever considered that?
Actually, the grandparent poster is right, TV is addictive. It may not be directly injecting a drug into you, but watching TV gives people a kick.
The parallel you draw about Quentin Tarantino films is flawed. It's just like saying, I could take ecstasy, but I don't, I take regular crack instead.
Right on!

So there.
I was told this by a lecturer where I'm studying.

Simple, instead of calling it a car, you call it scrap metal.
