Maybe you should have gone on to the second page. The capital gains tax is not typically considered a tax on the middle class. From the links you provided he isn't raising the social security tax rates, only increasing the amount of taxable income. That looks like it would probably impact the upper middle class, but these aren't struggling families. I don't see any evidence given of middle class income tax increases.
As for gas taxes nothing you linked to indicate he supports raising gas taxes, although if he did raise gas taxes and offset the increase with credits elsewhere it would probably be one of the best things you could do for the country. In case you haven't notice, or dependency on foreign fuel is a very bad thing.
I'm sure all the middle class people in California giving thirty percent of their income to the government (soon to be more if we become an Obamanation)
The #1 cash crop in the country is marijuana. The only thing screwy about that fact is that the federal government allows all that money to go to drug cartels instead of taxing it.
As for the CD, it doesn't take a lot of brains to put in a CD the right way
Are you trying to argue that USB plugs, OTOH, require a lot of brains to plug in correctly? Maybe I'm just extraordinarily gifted, but it's never given me the slightest bit of trouble.
Well I guess the assumption is that because he is retired military the likelihood of his being the particular person that isn't supposed to fly isn't very high.
I know it's not his fault, but that's an idiotic assumption. If we actually need evidence that people trained to kill might just use that training someday then John Allen Muhammad and Timothy McVeigh should do. Assuming anyone who can produce a military ID isn't a threat just makes the TSA all the more pathetic.
I've never ditched an account, but I did lose my original account. I don't know how low the UID was, but it was a few years older than this one so it was probably pretty good.
The competition is bad for their bodies, or the training? It seems likely the most damage would be done by the years of training. I would also guess that training at 12 years old still is happening in order to be ready to compete at 16, so I wonder if the age restriction makes any real difference.
I don't know why so often we get articles linked to sources completely unrelated to the topic at hand. I understand and appreciate PCMag having articles unrelated to PC's occassionally for the edification of their readers, but there's no reason not to get a topical source for sharing on Slashdot
Offtopic still, but I agree that's pretty annoying. It's right up there with the stupid articles which link to a blog which links to another blog which links to another blog...
I know he takes a lot of flak because of it, but when John McCain said he invented the wheel, what he really meant was that he was responsible for obtaining the funding for development of the wheel. It's all just a little misunderstanding.
No argument there. One vote per person can't accurately capture the intend of the voters in an election with more than two candidates. Getting rid of the electoral system is only the first step in repairing our system.
For the most part I would say it's more like talk radio is just braindamaged. As a liberal I hated Air America because it was exactly what it was supposed to be, a liberal version of talk radio. Regardless of whether I agree with them or not, talk radio as a format is hateful. That sort of obnoxious shoutfest just seems to appeal more to conservatives.
You're right, it should have been modded offtopic. WTF does NIST have to do with the BBC's error?

Source please.

I'm pretty sure the socket he's referring to is the fist.

As stupid as the No-Fly List is, why is showing a military ID all it takes to get off? Why does that work when a drivers license doesn't?

I believe the official standard is under 475,000 :)
That's weather, not climate. There's a difference.
Dick Cheney anyone?

Yeah, that was pretty stupid :)
Idiots. I guess they'd rather you and your friends take a car next time you go driving.
...at which point the Universe will instantly vanish and be replaced by something even more bizarre and incomprehensible.
You're out of line #1321121. Stay on message or we'll have you banished to Digg.

I disagree, an android dream is clearly an electronic sheep.
I accept your rejection :)
I guess you don't give a damn about reading my full reply either.

I said the US was a democratic nation, and as a representative democracy that's what it is.
