You are correct. Before the evolution of plants, the earth's atmosphere contained much more CO2, and no oxygen. Plants evolved to utilized CO2 for photosynthesis, and oxygen was a biproduct. In time, animals that extracted oxygen from the water were able to utilize the oxygen that was in the air. We are some of those animals.

No, freedom itself is a myth. Freedom is something that was created so that the various slaves of the world would think they have control over their lives, despite the fact the few options available to them are controlled by persons other than themselves.

It's pure FUD. Especially if you install the 64-bit version on a dual core proessor and have more than 2 gigs of ram, Vista is significantly faster than XP (although I've never tried XP x64).
I'm very happy with my installation of 64-bit Vista. It hasn't crashed once, every program except Adobe Creative Suite 2 works fine (it's a warez copy though, so who knows...) And best of all, it is much more responsive, even with many background apps running simultaneously.
And, with Virtual PC being free... I have XP Pro installed for kicks for those situations where I'll need it.

In particular XM 72, Beyond Jazz, is one of the few places you'll get to hear unique and interesting jazz that is way off the beaten path. I live in moderatey well known, but by no means famous, Brooklyn neighborhood with a small (say 800 square foot) bar known as Barbes. A great jazz violinist known as Jenny Scheinman was on this station. She probably has never been on the radio in NYC or anywhere else, but for that moment, anyone in the world had a chance to hear a great musician you once only could hear in this crazy small music venue.
XM Radio truly gives the average American an opportunity to hear music they never would even know how to find, and that's a good thing. I'm willing to pay $10 a month so serious music fiends can play good music without the undo influence of payola and advertiser pressure.
Oh, and yes, I've found tons of artists I never heard of on XM Radio, some so obscure you can't even find it on any common P2P network.
You're forgetting who this DOES hurt: the companies that are small and are trying to raise capital.
These pump and dump scams are a major reason why the uber-corporations stay in power, it is VERY VERY difficult to get money if you start a small corporation. All it takes is to be targeted by one pump-and-dump con artists, and your company is ruined.
