I really don't know what you mean by "evidence". This isn't a court. This is a scientific theory, for which all signs point to the very scenario I discussed. I don't really understand why you would think oxygen in the earth's crust has anything to do with oxygen in the air (hint, free form oxygen is NOT in the earth's crust). I mean, CO2, is well, mostly oxygen too but that doesn't mean any mammal can breathe it.
I am not the one suggesting all the oxygen will disappear, you are the one suggesting some previous state of the atmosphere is desirable. If you believe there is no proof of any previous state of the atmosphere, I really don't know why you'd make that claim.
Kind of a weak troll, but whatever.
btw, the wikipedia article summarizes the most commonly accepted theory regarding the three stages of earth's atmosphere.
You are correct. Before the evolution of plants, the earth's atmosphere contained much more CO2, and no oxygen. Plants evolved to utilized CO2 for photosynthesis, and oxygen was a biproduct. In time, animals that extracted oxygen from the water were able to utilize the oxygen that was in the air. We are some of those animals.
You seem to be advocating a return to an earth that hasn't existed for hundreds of millions of years, long before the first fish ever crawled out of the ocean.
That doesn't seem like a reasonable argument under any circumstances.
How do you get your food? Are you a farmer? Do you own a farm? If you do, who protects your farm from those who would deprive you of your farm output?
You aren't free. You cannot simply decided one day you don't want to participate in the game. You will starve. And this is exactly the way the peaceful people want it to be. You have renounced violence and real struggle as a legitimate means of enforcing status and power - despite the fact you bow to a power you cannot control.
The only man who is free is one who has a large enough to ensure his power, and enough slaves to free himself from the burden of work.
You are only alive because someone has decided to let you live. They have decided to let you live for a reason. Never forget that. You too are a slave. Just because you can spend an hour a day posting on slashdot doesn't mean you are free.

Freedom without any limits or restrictions is a ridiculous myth.
No, freedom itself is a myth. Freedom is something that was created so that the various slaves of the world would think they have control over their lives, despite the fact the few options available to them are controlled by persons other than themselves.
Life is struggle, there is always some lifeform fighting to take your life away from you. Whether it is an infectious bacteria colony, a hungry wolf, or a roving band of rebellious drug lords, life is defined by the constant fight for survival against others. You must kill and overcome, albeit indirectly, to survive. Someone, somewhere must struggle against this earth to feed, cloth, and shelter you.
There is always a master and a slave, and that is defined by one who is strong versus one who is weak. What you perceive as freedom is merely either a gift to control you, or you are the one in control of another.
As Nietzsche said:
Whether it is hedonism or pessimism, utilitarianism or eudaemonism - all these ways of thinking that measure the value of thing in accordance with pleasure and pain , which are mere epiphenomena and wholly secondary, are ways of thinking that stay in the foreground and naivetes on which everyone conscious of creative powers and an artistic conscience will look down not without derision, nor without pity. Pity with you - that, of course, is not pity in your sense: it is not pity with social "distress", with "society" and its sick and unfortunate members, with those addicted to vice and maimed from the start, though the ground around us is littered with them; it is even less pity with grumbling, sorely pressed, rebellious slave strata who long for dominion, calling it "freedom". Our pity is a higher and more farsighted pity: we see how man makes himself smaller, how you make him smaller - and there are moments when we behold your very pity with indescribable anxiety, when we resist this pity - when we find your seriousness more dangerous than any frivolity. You want, if possible - and there is no more insane "if possible" - to abolish suffering . And we? It really seems that we would rather have it higher and worse than ever. Well-being as you understand it - that is no goal, that seems to us an end , a state that soon makes man ridiculous and contemptible - that makes his destruction desirable.
Political change is of course difficult, but until we have TRUE separation of powers, everyone MUST refuse to vote for lawyers or graduates of law school.
Lawyers should be absolutely restricted from serving in any branch of the government besides the judicial branch. The problem we have today is lawyers create the laws to service their own selfish interests. Prohibiting this would do wonders to breaking the corruption that is inherent with any democracy.
Obama is just another ivy league educated lawyer who has proven his loyalty to that corrupt cabal. This mulatto is just the kind of lackey they've been craving.
Your rant is pointless. No one besides Microsoft, even Apple, has figured out how to render fonts properly. Until that time, sit back and praise the gods that most people don't have to look at blurry fonts on Macs and the jagged ones on Linux.
Dude, it's MIT. It's the land of mental masturbation. When was the last time anything significant came out of that freakshow? Everything they ever announce always has a huge drawback that makes it totally useless. This is no different.
One of his main points is that when we find someone 'creepy', it's actually an early warning system that they're likely to be a danger. However due to social conditioning, people usually ignore their gut feelings which is a mistake. He also helped develop the model that the Secret Service uses to decide whether people who have made threats are probably harmless or likely to eventually commit violence.
It's deeper than that. This is fundamentally due to the religion of absolute egalitarianism.
Think about it, "the creepy guy" is likely to not have a strong chance of being violent. I've known many creepy guys in various jobs, and to my knowledge, none of them are criminals let alone violent ones.
Yet, 25% of black males between the ages of 18 and 35 are convicted felons. If you walk down the street and encouter a young black man, there is a strong chance he really IS a criminal. Yet, how many people reading this absolute truth feel the urge to accuse me of racism?
The belief that prejudice is wrong has moved into every facit of life - we are enthralled with devotion to the ideal that people are innocent until proven guilty.
Can someone please name ONE game that the Wii has that is worth playing? I considered getting the latest Zelda game and a Wii, but it was the only game worth getting it seemed. So, I just got the gamecube version.
I just don't see why the Wii is any better than the gamecube.
It's pure FUD. Especially if you install the 64-bit version on a dual core proessor and have more than 2 gigs of ram, Vista is significantly faster than XP (although I've never tried XP x64).
I'm very happy with my installation of 64-bit Vista. It hasn't crashed once, every program except Adobe Creative Suite 2 works fine (it's a warez copy though, so who knows...) And best of all, it is much more responsive, even with many background apps running simultaneously.
And, with Virtual PC being free... I have XP Pro installed for kicks for those situations where I'll need it.
You may not know this about New York City, but the newspaper industry is rather robust, and many are sold in tabloid format. Why is this? There are so many people who ride the subway there is an enormous customer base. Reading a newspaper obviously takes up more space than a PSP. Are you saying that the hundreds of thousands of people who read newspapers on the New York City Subway System are selfish assholes, and thus potential Sony customers?
No wonder Sony is one of the world's largest corporations.
Where are you located? Here in New York City, I've never seen anyone use it for anything BUT games. I personally use it to play games on a fairly regular basis.
Come to New York City. You see them on the subway about as frequently as an ipod. You rarely see a DS, although they are popular with oriental females. I guess their delicate fingers are well suited for that cumbersome device.
What UK are you living in? Anyone with half a brain, even the usurous financial thieves in London, know the game is up and it's time to leave that island. In a century, there won't be any English left!
The UK produces nothing of value. All they do is take from the rest of the world. It's days as a "market" are severely numbered.
That is ridiculous. England is filled with crime because it is barely English, and within 50 years, it will be minority English.
Cold countries typically have low crime rates because the lease intelligent races are averse to cold. It is the cold climate that allowed the superior intelligence of several groups such as Europeans and Orientals to evolve. Living in a warm climate involves minimal intelligence or restraint. Africans, "Hispanics" and many Southeast asian groups fall into this category.
Whereas in cold climates, self control is mandatory otherwise you will never get through a winter... in warm climates, food and opportunity is abundant everywhere. There is no need for long term planning, as long as your population level is small.
In New York City, blacks commit the lions share of crime, far disproportionate to their population. You know what trend is always unnoticeable? January and February have the lowest crime rates. They are tropical animals. They don't like the cold.
You clearly haven't been to NYC where many wealth 30-somethings are in fact in better shape than the kids in their 20's. This is precisely because they are established in their careers and AREN'T working 80 hour weeks and have time to work out every day.
I work insane hours and I bike to work every day and shower at the office. I don't have time for a regular workout routine.
For many people who are well off, spoiling yourself means looking good and spending your newly found wealth on hot babes, whom you finally have the financial opportunity to exploit and the time to fuck.
And you still aren't paying for an "expert" opinion. I'm not going to go to a site like that and listen to untold hundreds of hours of music. My time is worth much more than that.
The point is, XM Radio is like going to a small obscure music venue - DJ's on XM Radio actually go to these venues, I've met them. I don't have the time or energy to go to bars every night listening to music, but... XM Radio is the next best thing.
If you aren't really into to obscure music, I could understand this being true. If however, you miss the days of radio actually exposing you to unique and interesting music - XM Radio is a great place. In particular XM 72, Beyond Jazz, is one of the few places you'll get to hear unique and interesting jazz that is way off the beaten path. I live in moderatey well known, but by no means famous, Brooklyn neighborhood with a small (say 800 square foot) bar known as Barbes. A great jazz violinist known as Jenny Scheinman was on this station. She probably has never been on the radio in NYC or anywhere else, but for that moment, anyone in the world had a chance to hear a great musician you once only could hear in this crazy small music venue.
XM Radio truly gives the average American an opportunity to hear music they never would even know how to find, and that's a good thing. I'm willing to pay $10 a month so serious music fiends can play good music without the undo influence of payola and advertiser pressure.
Oh, and yes, I've found tons of artists I never heard of on XM Radio, some so obscure you can't even find it on any common P2P network.
You're forgetting who this DOES hurt: the companies that are small and are trying to raise capital.
These pump and dump scams are a major reason why the uber-corporations stay in power, it is VERY VERY difficult to get money if you start a small corporation. All it takes is to be targeted by one pump-and-dump con artists, and your company is ruined.
This does ruin people's lives, and does affect our society and civilization negatively.
Nothing works on vista?
Funny, I run the 64-bit version of Vista and everything I run works just fine. Oh, and my system is much faster and much more responsive.
Why don't you name one application that doesn't work. Please, don't be a loser and mention a game.

But there is the issue of martian polar ice caps, ice composition of Pluto, and a few of the more icy moons around Saturn...
There is quite a bit of circumstantial evidence that earth may not be the only body in our solar system to be experiencing this warming trend.
Don't ask me for a link, google the articles - they are common.
You are correct. Before the evolution of plants, the earth's atmosphere contained much more CO2, and no oxygen. Plants evolved to utilized CO2 for photosynthesis, and oxygen was a biproduct. New York City did this in the 1920's, and still does it to this day. Several private firms also do this.
Anyone ever hear of propertyshark.com?.
Yeah, pictures of every building in Manhattan, and much of prime Brooklyn. They also have the tax photos from the 1970's.

This is one of the many problems that Vista rectifies.
