I guess no one read the article. It seems this person had the drone deployed because 6 cows wandered onto his farm, and he refused to return the cows or let the police on his land to get the cows. Yep, that surely warrants drone deployments, SWAT raidsm and felony charges. Good old US of A.

Yeah and how often does the government get involved in the inner workings of one of these departments? Heck, they can't even get a true audit of the Federal Reserve. So I'd say the accountability is pretty minimal. Look at Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. They had to be well past insolvency for anyone to clue in that there may be a problem. No, accountability is the least of your worries...

Yeah and you always have to be careful about laws that create government branches and then sneak in little bits of text that say the new branches' regulations will have the same force as a law. So suddenly the "manager" of said government branch can make and strike down "laws" at will, without being accountable to anyone - unless of course the rest of the government decides to call them on it.

Yeah, vets have absolutely nothing to do with bacterial resistance. I mean, those chickens need to be treated with vancomycin - absolutely all of them, as a preventative measure. Surely that has much less impact on bacterial resistance than Grand-pa who forgot to complete his pills for pseudo-membranous colitis because he felt better after a day.

Note that your physician is not behind this, it's the drug companies. Why? Because the more you "comply" with your medication, the more pills they sell. Good physicians have long ago given up the paternalistic doctor model, and now we recognize that patients are autonomous and have the right to not comply with treatment if that is their wish. Of course we have to make sure they understand the consequences of not taking the pills, as well as the consequences of taking the pills. But we cannot actually "force" a patient to take medication. It's not our decision.
